Green Tiger

"Cuando ves un tigre, el tigre te ha visto ya cien veces".
Es el día internacional del Tigre, y doodlé éste tigre verde inspirado en el hecho de que, aunque a la mayoría de nosotros el tigre aparece de color anaranjado brillante, para sus presas usuales- ciervos, jabalíes y otros ungulados-, el tigre aparece en tonos verdes, ya que éstos animales son dicrómatas y no pueden ver el color naranja. Para ellos, la vida es como una película de terror en la que deben cuidarse constantemente de una bestia mortífera que a veces pueden oler y escuchar, pero que difícilmente pueden ver cuando acecha inmovil en medio de la selva. No sorprende que los ciervos en la India, por ejemplo, se asocien con monos y pavorreales, animales que no solo pueden vigilar desde las ramas de los árboles sino que además son tricrómatas, y ven al tigre anaranjado con algo más de facilidad.

It is the International Day of the Tiger and I doodled this green tiger inspired by the fact that, although this predator appears bright orange to most humans, to its usual prey- deer, wild boar etc- it appears green, since these animals are dichromats and cannot see orange. To them life is like a horror movie in which they have to watch out constantly for a murder beast they can maybe smell and hear but have trouble seeing, especially when it stalks motionless in the middle of the jungle. 
It is not surprising then that deer in India for example often associate with monkeys and peafowl, which can keep watch from high on trees, but are also trichromats, meaning they see the tiger as orange and are able to spot him much more easily.
