Hey guys. Just thought I would make a journal series on DeviantART. This series will focus on stories in my life that I would like to share. Some will be dark, and some will be funny.

Today I would like to tell you all about the best friend I ever had. This is about how I met her, and how she changed my life for the better.

As a kid growing up, I was a huge victim of bullying. Through out my 6 years of grade school, it felt like I was bullied on a daily basis. I used to get thrown into things. Walls, ditches, you name it. These same people also threw huge rocks at me, and sometimes they would go for something else to throw too. I still have scars on my arm from getting hit with a broken glass bottle.

This continued until 7th grade. I went in to a new school, and I noticed it was almost the same. The problem was, and this was also the problem in grade school, I had no friends to help me when I was down. I usually try to pick myself up, but that only goes so far. It got to a point that I started fighting. I got suspended for one of those fights. When I came back after the 3 days, I had hit a severe state of depression, and was seriously thinking of committing suicide. I was going to hang myself from a coat hanger in the bathroom at school.

I remember the day well. It was the last warm day in October, and it was during lunchtime. I was sitting alone, of course, trying to figure out how I was going to pull my suicide off. When lunch ended, I went to go to the bathroom to pull it off. Before I could even open the door, a girl from the same grade was walking up to me. Her name was Crysta Pfeffer. I had only known her because of some students talking about her in the hallway, but I had never actually seen her in the flesh until that day. She was about my height, almost the same age, and was the nicest girl you could ever meet. She walked up to me and said "hi". It put me in a state of shock because I had never heard a girl as pretty as her say hi to me, and I really never heard someone talk to me in a friendly tone before, besides my parents. I don't remember the conversation very well, but it must've changed me, because after she left, I went to open the door to the bathroom, and I stopped. I thought to myself, "You know what? Maybe I should live".

I think we became friends on the second-to-last day of 7th grade. I was in my computer class doing stuff, and she just struck up a conversation. I knew at that point that I had finally found someone nice, and I could finally accept someone as a friend. That friendship stayed strong in 8th grade as well. She would always high-five me in the hallway, and whenever a holiday came around, she would always be waiting with a handful of candy for me. If I hadn't been so shy at the time, I would've asked her out. I still wish I could, but I let that door close too many times. I still accept her as a friend to this day, and even though we didn't get to talk or hang out often in high school, she would still be there, and I would still try to talk to her. Even though we were never in a relationship, she still made me feel like the happiest man alive. With graduation around the corner, I know that I may only see her one last time. It'll be sad to see her go, but I'll never forget her as the first- and best- friend I ever had.
