Last Friday I visited our state capital in Olympia, WA, to see my grandchildren. I spent a couple fascinating hours prowling around on Capitol Hill, taking photos of historic ornamentation on the State buildings and monuments, which made me think of fantasy elements, filling my head with visions of iron crowns, gargoyles, and castles (well, I was haunting the Legislative Building, after all...).
