TPOW Solar System

This is the "The Princess of Windmills" solar system!

The rather large planet, Earth, orbits around the bright Class G yellow star, Sol. Also orbiting Sol is a much smaller star, a red dwarf with only 8% mass compared to Sol.

While Earth orbits the sun in about 365 days, the red dwarf takes about 5 earth years to orbit.

One of the most interesting thing about this solar system is that Earth is located in between the binary system. This is even considered a special holiday on the planet, in which every 5 years when the red dwarf comes close to Earth, both sides of the world are illuminated. This is called Good New Years.

Another interesting thing about this system is that there are no other solar bodies, with the exception of Earth's small moon. The main reason for this is that any planet forming outside of the red dwarf would be either slung out or brought in during the high gravitational influxes occurring when the red dwarf and Sol come close together.

Basically, the only safe area a planet could survive in this solar system is right in the middle of the two.

If there are any other planets, they are very distant, icy, and small, but none are known.

Finally, a religion has formed based on the binary star system. The short version is the god Sol, played a trick on his younger brother, the red dwarf. Punishment for this trick is to warm the Earth all by himself forever. However, the red dwarf star is a kind younger god, and comes along every 5 years to assist in the lighting and warming of Earth.

Although the religion is not widely practiced in modern ages, the holiday formed from it, Good New Years, continues on, and even plays a part in monarchies through choosing future kings.

To be slightly more specific, this star system is located within the M74 group, more specifically Messier 74, a Grand Design Spiral Galaxy located in the Pisces constellation.

Although this is not our Milky Way Earth, the life that evolved here is strikingly similar, give for a few small physical differences. This planet DOES, however, exist in the overall same universe.

/this last part isn't even canon and I'm just writing it for interest purposes! Honestly, this galaxy part plays no part in the story, though the Solar System part does!

Enough rambling! I hope everyone likes my little CGI work! Space is really interesting and fun to talk about.
