Yes, once more it has been a while since I wrote.
Just figured I would update everyone on what's been going on. Unfortunately life has been taking more energy than my body has provided, so lately I haven't had much motivation to do anything. I've been at work and most of the time when I get home, I'm too tired to do anything. Finally I had to let myself take things easy because I saw that sitting at my desk going "Draw! Do it now!" didn't let me rest or get work done...
Dentistry wise things are going better now. I have my final appointments coming up, altho the wait wasn't without surprises. One day my teeth started hurting mysteriously and so I went to the dentist to check them out. I told them how my molar has been hurting, and from an x-ray they saw my filling had hit the nerve, and so I needed a root canal. Yay!
If things weren't worse, I needed a specialist because it was a molar. So I made an appointment, but so it no longer affected my schedule at work, I had to ask them to set it on a Friday. And so I would have had to wait till August 3rd. From the way I'm talking, you can guess I didn't wait till then. The pain got so bad, it started to affect my sleep. On second day, it affected my front tooth so I couldn't bite. It was radiating all over my face and my mouth and no pain killers were able to work.
So finally I called in and asked for an earlier appointment. Earlier choice was August 2nd, but the woman said that they try take emergencies on the same day. I think my exact words were: "I don't like making a fuss... but I'm in a lot of pain..." To my luck the doctor agreed to squeeze me into his schedule.
To my surprise the molar wasn't the problem. Apparently my brain had been confused and had moved the pain there. Instead it was my front tooth. The one my previous dentist had ruined. You know... the one that had forced me to drink through straws for 1,5 years. It was dead...
As a positive note tho: You should see me drink now. It's hilarious! I keep drinking all careful and then just chucking like a champ!
But all in all everything is better now. I can drink like a normal person again. My root canal has been painless. Now I just need to find the energy and motivation to get stuff done...
Just some random words:
So life has definitely been busy for quite some time. But work is getting done slowly
All my dentist appointments are done for now so one of my two day offs per week won't be used to going there and spending the day sleeping off the Novocaine. Yay Novocaine!
But let's see... so yeah, all my 4 appointments are done. I need two more and because my dentist is always so busy, her appointments go two months away at least. But good news is that we set two appointments which should be enough to finish her work. I'm feeling great tho, gotta admit. I have my crown and entire lower jaw is done. Alongside with that she fixed my front tooth.
See funny thing... I went to my previous dentist who spotted that my front tooth was in bad shape. I admit, my fault. But the tooth was fine. It never felt pain or ache... until he took a crack at it... After he did the fillings, my tooth lost it's entire protective layer which meant drinking like normal people was a lifestyle I had to leave behind. I mean sure, I love drinking through straws... until it's no longer optional and if you want to drink that milk, you better have a straw in the house! I spent over a year like that! water, milk, juice, soda, room temperature, cold or hot. Didn't matter. My tooth could not handle it. I believe the term my dentist used was "hyper sensitive"... so yay... thanks for fixing it ex-dentist...
So yesterday as I went in for my final appointment, I needed two shots of Novocaine to numb the tooth just enough so she could fix it. Drill was wind based... So she fixed the fillings, took one of them off and put in medicine, fixed the crack I apparently had on it too... How that got there, is beyond me! Gave me new toothpaste and a second mouthwash to use that should help make it less sensitive. I swear, my tooth looks better than it did on the day it popped out of the gum! And I can already tell the mouthwash is going to work... my god it tastes horrible! So it must be good for me, right? Hahaha!
Some updates to my situation
First off: Thank you guys SO much for commissioning and helping me make dentist money. You have no idea how much it means to me
It's a huge weight off my shoulders too.
To continue the happy mood, I'm two dentists appointments down. And my biggest worry, the pain behind my upper molar, is gone. One of my teeth was really bad so it needed root canal, and what happened was that the tooth was radiating pain through the nerves to the back of my molar. So wisdom teeth are still in their rightful places! Woo!
So yeah. Things are going great right now. I have a new job that occasionally let's me draw during the day. My teeth are already starting to feel better. And you guys are just the best <3 You rock! Don't ever change.
Hi guys. I'm starting up commissions again in hopes of making some extra money so I can still keep paying the bills and get my teeth in shape.
I wouldn't otherwise want to prepare this badly, but two weeks ago I lost my job which meant I lost my dental insurance. Right before my first appointment too. As you might know: dental insurance in America is a bit of a big deal... I'm still on my husband's plan, but his only covers so much. It didn't help that I had gone to the new dentist already two months ago, but they're always so full that they make appointments two months later. What's so bad about that? My teeth are in bad shape... I was doing ok until about a week ago when I started to suffer from constant tooth ache that has and will wake me up at night. One is located right behind the molar... you know... where the wisdom tooth
is. To me pain this bad means: Oh boy, this isn't gonna be cheap...
So in hopes of easing up the blow that life seems to be throwing at my way, commissions are back up again! Right now is a perfect time for it too as Marid's pages have been finished for the rest of the chapter.
