As an Indonesian who is anti-Suharto, I would say that it was not the CIA that masterminded the G30S. In the chaotic situation of 1965–1967 (caused by the Sukarnoization), the CIA actually was in a position to closely monitor developments (including student political organizations) and ensure that the US would have close relations with the new ruler (in this case, Suharto). The regime change was entirely an internal initiative, not the CIA. Besides, Serbia's application for membership in ASEAN is as unreasonable as Morocco's application for membership in the European Union. It is literally outside the defined area, the culture is too different, and has no meaningful diplomatic support (as Greece did with Cyprus).
