I opened this account for a lot of different reasons. The last push was when a friend here on dA asked me what I mean "personal relationship with Jesus" -- a friend from another country and culture. I've thought about him a lot, and the question. Today I felt a strong need to try to give some explanation. Then, decided to paste the message I sent to him here:
" I never gave you much of an answer about what I mean when I say "personal relationship with Jesus" -- I have thought about it frequently. It is hard to put into a few words. Sort of like being given one crayon and asked to explain a sunset with it. And not just the single second of
Things we all have in common. A friend sent this to me today. So perfectly applies to where I am today. I wanted to share it, and since she said it perfectly, this is a direct copy of her message to me.
We have all struggled with obstacles in our lives; some of them we overcome with little effort, some take more effort and some seem impossible. Have you ever thought about what "obstacles" really are? They are God's mountains!
What purpose do mountains have in the world? They provide barriers from storms, raging seas, strong winds. They provide mountaintops, where we can experience a view of nature and the wor
Lord of HOSTS. I've read and sung those words for years and today it hit me that I was unclear what this means. So, Lord of people who give great parties? "host" ~ that word, HOST, has a few different meanings.
In the Hebrew Bible, the name Yahweh and the title Elohim frequently occur with the word tzevaot or sabaoth ("hosts" or "armies", Hebrew: צבאות) as YHWH Elohe Tzevaot ("YHWH God of Hosts"), Elohe Tzevaot ("God of Hosts"), Adonai YHWH Tzevaot ("Lord YHWH of Hosts") or, most frequently,
YHWH Tzevaot ("YHWH of Hosts").
hmmm...ARMIES/hosts. The _________ of Hosts. Elohim of...Elohe...Adonai...YHWH..
I've been in a much less active relationship to my dA accounts too. Hope you are happy with your exam results. I waver in my feelings about sending out journal posts here. But I'm glad for a chance to touch base once in a while with old friends like you. hugs to you!
