Mikey came home from school trying his best to stay strong. He knew that the tough guys never cried, so why should he?
He went to his room and slammed his book bag down. He turned up his music and tried to forget; tried to forget what had happened that day, that week, that month, that year.
What happened you ask?

Mikey's best friend of eighteen years had abandoned him, that's what happened. Erik Stevens had found a new crowd to hang out with and had left Mikey to himself everyday. The only time he ever talked to him was to ask him what the homework was; nothing more.

Yes, Mikey had other friends. But he felt that the bond that he had with Erik was special; he had known him since childhood, and they had made plans to go to the University of Alabama/Birmingham  to play professional football.
He loved Erik like the big brother he never had. Erik had always been by his side.

Now what was happening to them? Why did Erik have to do that? Why did he have to leave him alone like last night's homework? What was the big idea?

All Mikey knew was that he couldn't take it anymore. He hated being ignored by his best friend and he hated feeling lonely; he hated it so much that he had made a decision.

Mikey walked to the kitchen and grabbed one of his father's chef knives. He wondered how to commit his own execution for about thirty minutes. Once he finally decided, a bright light appeared. He was so startled that as hd jumped up, he created a deep cut in his arm. But that mattered not to him, he was too terrified.
Did he complete his task? Was this his punishment?

From the bright light, Mikey saw a figure approaching him. He tried to run, but was too terrified to move. As the figure got closer and closer, he could see who it resembled; The Savior.
Jesus stared at Mikey and Mikey, still horrified, stood there like a statue and stared at Him wide-eyed.
Jesus glanced over at the knife and picked it up.
"What were you planning to do, My Son..." Jesus said, His tone gentle and sorrowful.
"I can't..."Mikey found himself saying. "I can't...... take... it.... anymore..."
Jesus came closer to him and touched Mikey's hand, freeing it from all injury. He then took out a large nail and showed it to Mikey. The nail seemed to hammer itself in to His wrist, tears flowed from Jesus's sacred face.
"No!" Mikey shouted, pulling Jesus's other hand.
Jesus gave Mikey a sorrowful smile and a single drop of blood fell from His eyes.
"Why do you do this, Mikey? You have ignored Me since you were a little child. See how much this pains Me. Never the less; you are still Mine. And I still love you."
I'm sorry... my writing isn't very good today...
But this is mainly for the guys. Girls, you are more than welcome to read this as well.
All of my work is for everybody do read, boys and girls!

The real moral here is that Jesus is always by our side and we tend to ignore Him. A LOT.
We need to pay attention to Jesus just like we do with anything/everybody else. It's not fair to Him how we leave Him alone the way we do.

You are only ignored when you don't pay attention to Jesus.

Hope you likey!

Jesus Loves You!!!
