Newspeak is a term from George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984". It's described as the only language, whiches vocabulary gets smaller over time. The dictatorship of "Big Brother" is replacing old English by newspeak, which uses much less words, so the subjects can no longer communicate properly and thus cannot develope ideas that might endanger the rule of "Big Brother".
