Coat of Arms breakdown

So in the top left of the map is the personal coat of arms of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V.

In the top left corner of his arms is the yellow castle of Castile quartered with the red lion of Leon. To its right are the arms of Aragon, in yellow and red. The Sicilian arms are essentially that of Aragon crossed with that of the Hohenstaufen black eagle. Below is the pomegranate of Granada, the Kingdom of Castile's most recent conquest.

In the middle left corner are the arms of Austria, in red and white. Below it are the arms of Burgundy, blue and yellow with a red border. To its immediate right are the arms of Brabant, a yellow lion. Above it are the arms of the Franche-Comté, the fleur-de-lis with white and red bordering. In the center are the arms of Flanders, a black lion and that of the Tyrol, a red eagle.
