We are in dire need of a new administrator, several preferably.
I am the only active administrator and it seems everyone else from the admin team have not been active for years. I am leaving dA (more info on that here, also I’m looking for website recommendations, please share if you have any). If there are no applicants for the admin positions - the group will be closed. And we cannot have that!
What does being an administrator entail?
Mainly, it means approving or denying submissions, creating new folders when the old ones are full, making sure the new folders can be submitted into, and that the old oversized ones are locked (and do not appear as options when members submit their artwork). However, it is primarily just approving/denying submissions, as folders do not reach their limits often. Submissions expire within a month; so it would be preferable, if the potential admins would log-in and manually check in with the group at least every few weeks.
Groups cannot function without active administrators, who approve submissions and manage folders. While you may have seen ghost groups that are still somehow active - I assure you, they are ghouls that will expire in time (and I have seen it). Therefore, even if there are suggestions to leave it open without limitations to submissions - that is not a viable solution. When submissions are not monitored, deviants submit anything without any relation to the subject (e.g. Higurashi ). Then, the groups are filled with unrelated material and members abandon them quickly. However, that is not the worst of it. The worst is that submission folders have limits, which means that in time (depending on the size of the group) – they become oversized and members are unable to submit anything to them. And that, fellow Higurashi no naku koro ni lovers, is how a group dies. This is why it is crucial to find new administrators.
Please, if you are interested write to me directly (zzSnowWhiteQueenzz). Eclipse is very unfriendly with group comments (not that the old format ever was) and it is highly unlikely that I will receive notifications, if you comment on this journal. So again, please, write to me directly.
