Doppelsoldner 1

"Doppelsöldner - double-mercenaries"

These renowned warriors are rarely born in the cities, yet will quickly find their way to them under the payroll of wealthy citylords and merchants. While the "double" name refers to their looming height and increased wages, in reality most doppelsöldners are paid much more than double... and are often substantially more than double the size of a normal soldier thanks to their imposing bulk.

Due to their immense size their armor ranges from custom-fitted plating to scavenged scraps to very little at all, but these Dragon-Blessed beings tend to be so naturally resilient that the armor is often more for show than purpose - and seldom do they bother with weapons. For if there is one characteristic of a doppelsöldner that is largest, it is their pride.

I was a bit surprised to find that one of the medieval armor loras actually worked somewhat well on chonky figures. There's a tendency to just pile on endless overlapping plates in impractical manner, but could be worse. It effectively forces a high detail due to its predilection towards very flowery armor, which kind of led to the idea for the theme of this series.
