So huh, I know it's an arbitrary number but I can't say I ever expected anything like it. I've been mostly lurking in the various related spaces for quite a long time now, so needless to say it was with much trepidation that I hit the "submit" button a few months back, even if the only thing I was submitted was AI imagery. I also never imagined I'd get a little warm feeling from seeing others favorite or follow. During my long lurking period on DA, FA, and elsewhere I made it standard practice to leave as little presence as possible, and now that I'm on the other side of the table I can better see the value of a simple thumbs up. So... thanks, truly, to everyone who has liked any of the stuff I've shared here, left a comment, shared a suggestion, etc. Thanks too to whatever lurkers out there who may feel more comfortable just quietly taking a look and moving on - I get it.

I realize that at this point I've done a bit of a broad smattering of different sorts of images. When I started this I was just thinking plain old (if very big) heft largely of the scaled variety, and that does seem to be the most popular of what I've shared overall, but now there's some fur, some macro, some transformation even. Not sure how often I'll be doing any given thing (particularly the TF, if I'm being honest) but part of the reason I'm doing this is to have fun with this weird toy that is AI image generation. So hey, let me know if you want some more bears at some point or some more silly lore explanations of fat kobolds in space. I do have a bit of a suggestion list I'm currently working through, and a fair number of ideas of my own I've yet to get done, but I'm generally happy to get more things to try and see if I can get the ol' digital monkeys to do.

And not to get too far into navel gazing but I also continue to have mixed feelings about doing this at all, given the nature of AI art/not-art/whatever-it-is. Even if the amount of inpainting, manual touching & guidance has made me realize there is a certain sort of skill to it, it's still a lot of spamming RNG using tools built off of ethical issues. One of these days I'll finally finish and share a story so I can think of myself as something closer to an actual artist, ha. But I'm not about to stop with the pictures any time soon at any rate, this is still good fun and I'm even picking up some art principles as I do it.

And heck, it's even the year of the dragon coming up.

I was trawling DA a bit after stumbling into some pieces from misterbubb a while back and ran into their stuff... and then I noticed their tutorial/FAQ (www.deviantart.com/pseudochmod…), and thought 'Well heck, maybe I should give it a shot'. I know I've plugged it a thousand times already but here's one more - if you're curious about giving this sort of thing a whirl but aren't sure where to start, start there! IcyAIbis has some great tutorials as well for what I'd consider some more complicated areas.]

Anyways as to the image itself I wanted to do a quick little sketchy-style piece, and in lieu of actual sketching like an actual artist I picked an artist mix that lent itself toward that sort of look. Getting the character to think about numbers isn't terribly reliable but a simple '?' does go easy. (I know I could just manual paint in some numbers, but playing around with the toy and all.) This was also a further test of the hot new Symix, which does indeed seem to lend itself to fat fingers. On the other hand it has a fairly different style of facial fat that I'm not entirely sure I prefer yet, and a very strong preference for hair. Seeming like they each have their own strengths.
