I have been working as concept artist for Canadian company Mektek for a while and they are making the next big mecha fighting game - HEAVY GEAR ASSAULT!
Here is a poster I made for them, with the help of the awesome team.
We will also be at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco end of this month.

We need your help at funding this game! This is the address to go to:

:bulletblue: [link] www.heavgear.com

I will upload some more art soon.

Very nice artwork, but why ... why ... in all that is evil in the world ... on all the rich background Heavy Gear has to offer, is the game set in Arenas? The Duelist background ruined totally the old CGI Series ... why does the game has to suffer the same?!

I want North vs South vs Earth ... Gears vs Striders vs Infanty vs Tanks ... and not some generic robot Mecha Fight in an Arena ...

My thoughts exactly, I want the old games back. I hope they do a good job with this one. I feel the same way with mechwarrior and battlezone!

witch, they'd like to do so, but it would require the crowdfunding to reach 10 million. Stompy Bot and MekTek are small companies that want to put out a AAA game for the fans, old, and new, and those who have never heard of Heavy Gear before. Already they put out a sweet introduction at GDC that you can look up on the GDC website.

If you check out their homepage, heavygear.com, you'll see the crowdfunding extends up to goals that include not only better stuff for the people who crowdfund the game, but also opens up newer and better things for everyone. :) God bless!

Very tasty, but those cyan Vs look a bit too bold and ungraduated. I don't think the image needs such a distraction?

HUNTER VERSUS JAGER! Heavy Gear is one of my favorite tabletop RPGs. Glad to see you doing the art for the computer game.

ha nice you spotted that! But the Jager got redesigned, this was just preliminary coz we didnt have concept art yet

The baseline Hunter and Jager are two of my favorite gears and have been for years. Hard not to recognize their heads. :)

Mechs came out pretty well although personally I would tilt the image a little to add more dynamic and blur the sparks (they are sharp).

thanks for crits, man. Agree the sparks could use motion blur

Reminds me very much of the Arena stages in Armored Core. Awesome!

Amazing stuff!
While MekTek's current lack of Mechwarrior saddens me (they are the guys who did the free release of MW4: Mercs) I'm looking forward to seeing how Heavy Gear turns out!
