It was an abnormally warm day. They had been occurring sporadically; one day it'd be snowing and the net it'd be 60 degrees outside. Because of this, the grass was somewhere between brown and bright green. You'd think you were in New England with how crazy the weather had been changing.
The sun blared down on Angel and the little bundle stuck to her side like glue as Jamie leaned on the fence, watching them soak up the sun.
Losing Cas so suddenly had put so much stress on Angel that she had gone into Labor early. Thankfully she had been far enough along that the foal was healthy, just tiny. A little buckskin filly. She reminded Jamie so much of Cas that it hurt. Her little blaze, the way she'd suddenly go from relaxing to tearing around in circles around her mother in an instant. Even the way she ran was similar to her father's.
Jamie had been pondering for two whole weeks over what the little filly's name should be. She had settled on Casper's Revelation. They had named her Cassie, after her father Cas, and the future looked bright for the little one.
This is where jamie was stuck. Did she want to race the filly? Or did she want to start showing her in foal in-hand classes and make her a sporting horse? She was tiny, so she was at a disadvantage as far as racing went. Her mother, Angel, was also a very talented jumper, so she may have an advantage in eventing.
Jamie sighed. She was getting ahead of herself again. Only time could tell what the filly's future would hold. She just had to wait and see.
