May 5, 2012 perigee "supermoon" captured in Pasadena, Calif. "Perigee" is a term for when an object makes its closest approach to earth. Our moon appears 12% larger and brighter around once a year as it makes its perigee orbit. This is my second attempt at a 3-exposure HDR photo to get better detail. Shot with a Canon 40D and no cable release, so excuse the ghosting.
