Antichrist (of Lars Von Trier)

......................

Have you seen this movie already?

I don't know why, but I had high expectations when I bought it.

If someone really got the point of that morbid insane disturbed sicko, please... ILUMINATE ME.
What the hell is that?

Well, I think it's nothing more than an attention-seeking misogynist production of a depressive guy who spent the last  years imprisoned inside his own dementedness.

And it's ---nothing--- against the explicit sexual content or the gruesome scenes... It would be ~okay~ IF there was a MEANING for that.

Hnf... Conclusion: Antichrist and Mirrors are the two worst films I've seen this year. Blegh.

And people, sorry for taking so long to reply the comments....

Oh man, even the trailer for Antichrist is creepy and twisted - what made our morbid curiosity grow as spectators was the fact that Charlotte Gainsbourgh (the woman who plays the main role) was sick for a pretty long while during the end of the shooting and after the movie had come out; she wouldn't give interviews nor talk about any aspect of what she'd just done as an actress.
I haven't seen it but just knowing that made loads of curious people I know go to the cinema to watch it just to see if they were tougher than a good, strong actress with a pretty awesome career tucked in her pocket... and apparently there was a constant trickle of people leaving the room as the film wore on. ^^ If it's as bad as that... I wonder why it was even allowed in the cinemas? Maybe it does have a very secret, deeply hidden meaning. Somewhere. xD
For the moment, this year, the only film that really left me distinctly confused was Thirst. But I haven't seen any good horror movies in the cinemas as of late ^^ When are the GOOD ones coming out??

That's a good question, Taiman... I've watched SO MANY awful movies lately... Antichrist, Mirrors, Raven, Surrogates, In the Name of the King, While She Was Out, Cloverfield, The Other Boleyn Girl... I think I could spend all my night listing them... -_-
Unbelieveble.

I didn't know that about the actress... Well, I can uderstand her. I think I would be in the same state if by any reason I decided to work for that sicko. Blegh.

And there is a meaning. They tell women are evil by nature. It's not their fault, they are controlled by nature and that's why they are evil.
In Cannes it was honoured with an anti-prize for being "the most misogynist movie from the self-proclaimed biggest director in the world".

And sorry for taking so long to reply... =/

well, I have the stupid tendency to watch movies even though people say it sucks so I can "Get my ow opinion" And since I watch a lot of movies I regret to have to say I did watch both movies... and hated them with all my heart.

maybe mirrors isn't the worst movie I have ever seen, but it still is pretty stupid... and antichrist? Well that movie was just painfully pointless...

those weapon designs are pretty awesome indeed... gave me some idea, what way I want to go with the weapons in the fantasy worlds I'm creating (in words by the way, I'm not that good in drawing)

SURELY you should watch it. I was never intending to "warn people to not watch it"... I was just... ... an outpouring. u.u
I got so irritated after watching that I HAD to come here and let it out.

Omg... I've watched so many TERRIBLE movies during the last months... -_-

Anyway, sorry for taking so long to reply.
Busy, busy, busy, as always. Sorry. =/

I did watch it, athough I not so quietly wish I didn't. God that was an horribly pointlesly agressive movie. The only meaning I could find in it is: Women are evil...

yeah, definately not my favourite movie. But I have to say, not all movies I have seen lately sucked. I actaully did like The Taking of Pelham 123

and don't worry about answering a bit late! I can wait :P

Yeah, that's it! I was discussing with my brother after we saw it and the only point we could get was that women were evil by nature. -_-

I saw some good ones too. The Orphanage, of Guillermo del Toro, is good. Knowing, In Tranzit, etc.
I never saw this Pelham... I'll google it. =)

I should avoid them at all costs then.

Tho i could try and watch the antichrist thing to see if i can help u figuring it out... dare i see it? lol

Since we're in a warning mood, lol, don't watch Year One with Jack Black. It's a comedy, yeah, but don't watch it, It's 1h30min you'll never get back lol. I liked the Tenacious D movie better, and that's saying a lot lol.

Tell me you've watched UP, from Pixar :tears: =D

No! Watch it! I'm just telling you ~I~ thinks it sucks and it's pointless and sick. But you should watch it... It's cool to see that level of bad movie. It's good to see good movies, but it's also good to see the bad ones. A_A
And then you can swear at them! *o*

And no, I haven't watched UP... I found really cute the screenshots I saw, but I haven't seen it YET. I'll look for it. ;)

*slaps forehead* Ack, forgive me for mistaking your name for another... I swear that is the first time I've ever done that, so I feel downright stupid. Must be the long nights and several blackouts tonight... or something. XD

Anyhoo, thank you for the feature, Lleayhe. ^^;

(First off, sorry for taking more than one month to reply. T_T)

Even so, I still do. It's a rarity when people feature my work, (especially when they're featured by very talented artists!) so I consider it a great honour. =)

As for the belatedness of the reply, don't worry about it. I've done the same plenty of times. =P

lol, I haven't seen either of those movies... so thanks for the heads up. I honestly try to avoid anything truly horrific since I was subjected to the bastard child of the original and brilliant Ninja Scroll movie: [link] Which... well... I only saw it once. I'd rather cut off my own hands before I saw it again.

Anyhoo, thanks for the feature, Luisa! :cuddle: And don't worry about the comments. After all, it's the thought that counts. =)

(Hides the fact that it sometimes takes weeks/months for him to reply to some comments... >_>;;;;; )
