Prologue
Here, if you look to the horizon, you can see the ocean tilted toward you like a bowl about to spill. Look up, and if the sky is clear enough, you can see light-webs of cities halfway around the world. It is perpetually night. There is only one star in the sky, a pinhole of light in the center of the world, above everybody's heads. Sometimes it blurs blue or red or gets masked by clouds. The only other natural light comes from below and within: a faint turquoise from the oceans, crimson and orange from the land, trees and brush emitting many shades of blue. The living organisms also glow in every color and with every intensity, incl
First, let me remind everyone that I consider an ad blocker a vital part of online security, and for very good reasons.
So now I've noticed what's threatening to become a trend: Web sites that go out of their way to complain if they detect that you're using an ad blocker.
DA has just started doing that to me now. I would've been happy to ignore that message if it came up once and only once, but...
The good news is, you can configure ABP to block that anti-blocking message. In the "Filter Preferences" window, there's an "Add filter" button you can use to add the following custom filter rule: ##div#block-notice"That oughtta hold
Hard to believe it's been about 10 years since I joined this place! That was right when the whole Jark vs Spyed debacle was going on, and when making emoticons and plz-accounts and spamming them all over the forums was a sure path to superstardom. (Maybe it still is? I don't know.) Throughout this site's dozen or so design overhauls, I've met a lot of great artists and friends who have helped shape my art style. I loved doing art trades, and I launched commissions while I was here. I also got to participate in a few OCT's like WIFL, Alabaster, Eden, WMOCT, and Cooking Wars, and I enjoyed participating in groups like Taurclub and ArmsArmy.

Finally! My 10th nano novel, Zeroblood, is finished. While I managed to get 50000 words in 30 days, I started the story a day early and finished the story over a week late. Seems like when the month runs out, so does the magic! But a little at a time, I came up with the conclusion.
This one was a very important one for me. Across all ten of my attempts at Nano, I was trying to express something that was gnawing at me. Trying to overcome a deep fear, trying to understand a strange and hostile cultural movement, trying to figure out exactly what I was saying and who I wanted to say it to. In this novel, I finally confronted it head-on. I am de
WOW, a whole week later, I forgot to update about the novel. I did finish Raw Diamonds on the 30th ( Those in the stream can confirm :P ), with 50000 words and a completed story. I usually give it a month or so to sit before I go back and reread it with fresh eyes, but I'm currently pretty happy with it. It was really hard to write though! Not sure why. Most years I have an easy time, but this time I was really straining to meet the days' quotas. It might have been the experiment to broadcast it, it might have been the story itself.
Again, I want to thank those who did watch. Nobody chatted, but it was plenty enough to see the animals in the
Hey, as I see you liked Descent, I'm not sure if you know about the new project that the original creators of the game are making. It's called Overload and it has a very nice playable teaser demo available! You should check it out, and if you like it, maybe you would consider to back the project on its Kickstarter campaign. This is the link to the project @ Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/r…
