(I recently (earlier this year) finished an annoted collection of Lovecraft's "Wierd Tales" and thought it might be interesting to have a go at writing a set of shorts or fragments based around his Cthulhu mythos. I've also always wanted to do something that dealt with the sea and my relationship with it, having grown up by it)
