German Coal Drag

Not nearly as long as their US counterparts, DB moves coal in lower-capacity cars with straight electric locomotives (the only locomotives that can rightfully be nicknamed "motors") at higher speeds than one would find 'Stateside. Of note in this picture is the DB Class 140 motors pulling the train, which are getting phased out after 30+ years of service. Also interesting is that the train got routed through a platform track instead of the freight bypass track visible to the left of the train with brand-new concrete crossties.
