Conquer Yourself (Redux)

This counts as Halloween themed right? Either way, I'm counting it.

So this is sort of an unintended remake of this old scene I did (which is just a remake of the Dark Link arena from Ocarina of Time anyway.) Obviously, this one is a lot more dynamic than my old one and has a lot more effects going on.

First of all (and most importantly), I'm actually using an OoT Link model made by . It looks a lot better and works a lot better than the old Twilight Princess model I had when I made the old version. Secondly, I decided to go with a mid-battle action scene. In the battle when you hit Dark Link, he disappears and reappears behind you, so I wanted to make it look like Dark Link was getting a surprise attack from behind Link. I also like the idea that some other artists have done where Dark Link forms out of the water, so I added large bubbling splashes beneath his feet and a watery trail to his sword swing. As for Link, I wanted him to look like he was just barely catching the attack in time, with him gritting his teeth and slightly off-balance stance. I also had to add a slight glow to his eyes so they didn't seem so dark and I think it actually made his eyes a very nice vibrant blue. The environment was pretty easy since the arena is just a foggy void with some rocks, the doorways and the island with the tree in the middle.

In Photoshop, I added all the water effects like the splashes around Dark Link's feet and the water trail/splash to his sword. I added some more black smoke around him as well but some of it was rendered in the scene originally. I also added some more fog in front of Link and around the edges of the scene to try to give the fog more depth and feel more all-encompassing.
