World of Greyhawk by hero339 World of Greyhawk by hero339
This is my version of the Flanasses map from the World of Greyhawk roleplaying setting. Some minor things have been changed and the scale has been altered slightly.
This map was created with Painter and Photoshop, and using a Wacom tablet.

Running some D&D for my kids, and was looking for a good sized map like this.
Excellent stuff.
I know this is a 3 year old post for you, but having just found it, I wanted to comment and push some praise your way.
Beautiful map, very well done. And it will definitely be used in the game I run for my wife and kids. :D
I'll have to add a village, or town, here and there, and the bustling city of Churn with the great butter trade route.

Brilliant stuff mate! I still have the 'Folio' edition, and have recently rebooted my campaign from the mid 80s, set in Ekbir, so I will be using your map now. Many thanks :)

Oh so cool! I love the old stuff as well. I've been playing D&D/Pathfinder for about 30 years. So glad you like the map.

David,
That's wonderful. I hope the map is a great resource for others. Yes indeed the location of Greyhawk was changed to accommodate my campaign world. Thanks for addressing the issue on that forum.

Thank you so much for your continued interest in my work. You rock fellow David!

I usually get my textures from www.cgtextures.com/

They've got some great stuff there if you're willing to find some creative uses for the files.

Oerth will always be Dungeons and Dragons to me.

(Meanwhile...here I am, hanging out on the Demiplane of Dread, but anyway...)

Yeah, you can't beat the old school.

And good luck with that Dread thing. My advice... don't breathe in too deep. :)

I mean, I'm good at maps... but they look unrefined... not nice and polished and professional like your greyhawk one... and since you did draw a map of greyhawk, i assume you play d&d?

Thanks. And yeah I'm a 30 year veteran of roleplaying. I play Pathfinder now (not actual D&D since they ruined the system). :)

Holy... Wow. 30 years... I guess you started playing a couple years after D&D first started then...
And I assume by "ruined the system" you mean 4th edition... 4th edition sucks. But I hear (and hope) that 5th edition will be better.

Yeah, I started in about 1982 or '84 ... somewhere around then. 4th edition is such a waste... it tries to make the game more like World of Warcraft. It lost it's heart.

:) No, i was referring to global tectonics (ie some of the mountain formations are Un-natural, as are some of the Peninsular, and some of the rivers seem don't follow their watershed), But i Understand that it is not meant to be a real world map, just indulging my geography A level Nerd in case he atrophies after years of non-use. These are all minor nit picks, as I said, the Map is fantastic, judging from my own experiences it must have taken you ages.

I see. Well nerd away. :)
The mountain ranges, rivers, etc. follow the original Greyhawk map from decades ago.
This map probably took about 25 hours, certainly not ages. But I'm glad you like it.

Love it. Some of the geology is a wee bit odd, but a fantastic map overall.

Thanks. The geology isn't all that important to me. I don't think any of the character will be doing any mining for gold or searching for fossils.
Do you mean the geography in relation to the original Greyhawk map is off or that it doesn't conform to real-world land formations?
