My Bio
I (by pseudonym Herczs) was born on 13.06.1972 in Latvia in a scientists and Master chess players family.
I loved spending time with my grandmother Olga Dzenite, who was an amateur painter. Olga tough me the depth of art and showed the true colors of it.
In childhood I also spent a lot of my time at the sea watching the sea gulls. I enjoyed the nature, so parents decided to take me to ornithology group. Later on I fulfilled my research with photography of birds and nature. Also I was doing a scientific research about certain behavior of birds.
Finished Riga’s 1st Gymnasium and received Mathematical education.
In the Latvian University of Agriculture (Facility of Forestry) received education of biologist.
Parallel to studies I was continuing photographing the birds and writing educational material about them, so I became the Co-author of two ornithology books. I also received a gold medal for my achievements in science in 1983. After studies I worked in the Zoo and Latvian science academy institute of biology.
I also been in the management in few companies and non-profit organisations. In the meantime still improving myself in the art of photography. In 2013 I became a certified Google photographer.
In my free time was self studying computer design and 3D animation. I been taking part in many freelance projects, designing from company branding and logo and journal illustrations to cartoons and creations of spec-effects in movies.
In creativity and art I found my balance and peace from daily stress. Realizing this I decided to fulfill myself in sculpturing and visual art. From that point forwards on I was dedicating myself to art. I created many different reliefs and my art was seen in such countries as Latvia, Great Britain and Ukraine.
