A bit less than a year ago, I bought super sculpey (the regular pink one, and a firm gray). I read mixing those would give a nice consistency. I thought they would only get hard on an oven, so I stored them in my closet and kind of forgot about them until now.
I never touched super sculpey before, but they feel REALLY hard, the gray one is basically a brick that crumbles if I try to pinch it.
I tried softening a bit of them with hand sanitizer and it did worked, even the gray one feels really good now, but since itīs basically alcohol gel and I read alcohol dissolves polymer clay, I wonder if I am damaging it or something.
What is the recommended way to soften old unused Super Sculpey?
Also, I donīt have an oven big enough for what I plan to do. Would many patient sessions with a hair dryer work?
Thanks for any tips you can share!
