Monica had just driven up to a house of her next client. She got out of the car, grabbed her cleaning supplies and walked to the home.

An elderly man looked over the fence at Monica and said, “Not another one of those crazy costumed weirdos coming for another party!” Monica heard the man and approached him. “Excuse me?” she said with a puzzled look. “Sorry about that,” replied the man. “I thought you were another one of those crazy college kids.”

Monica said, “No, sir. I’m just here to clean the house of my client.” The man said, “You should turn back now.” “Why is that?” replied Monica. The man then said, “The people in that house are impossible to deal with! They play their music so loudly that you barely hear your own voice, and the inside of their home is like looking at a landfill! I tried to tell them numerous times to stop, but they just wouldn’t listen! Disrespectful little bastards!”

“Well, I’m not about to turn back,” said Monica. “I’ve come here for work, and that’s what I’m going to do. Besides, I’ve dealt with worse. I’ll be seeing you.” She turned around and walked up to the house. “She must be really brave or really foolish,” said the elderly man.

When Monica rang the doorbell, she was greeted by a tall man with brown hair. “You must be the maid we called,” said the man. “Yes, I am, sir,” replied Monica. “Magic Maid Monica at your service.” The tall man said, “Well, come in.” As Monica went through the door, she thought, “He certainly is nice. He’s real handsome too.”

The man led Monica into the living room of the home where she saw a black-haired woman next to the couch on her phone and a blond-haired woman watching TV. “Welcome to our home,” said the tall man. “I’m Jeff. That’s Debbie, and the one whose face is always glued to her phone is Angela.”

“So all three of you live here?” said Monica. “Yes, we do,” replied Jeff. Monica then said, “If you all live here, why don’t you take turns or even work together cleaning the house?” Jeff replied, “Between our classes and work, there’s really no time for us to settle down and clean, even on the weekends.”

Debbie sat up to face Monica and said, “Anyway, Monica, how much do you charge to get our house clean?” Monica replied, “I charge $25 an hour with an extra $5 for a special service.” Debbie said, “Sounds fair. Well, we don’t want the special service, so we’ll just go with the standard service.” Monica said, “Thank you so much. I’ll see to it that your home is spic and span.”

As she was getting ready to clean, Monica thought, “These people don’t seem to be a problem like the man next door told me about. They must have a complicated life if they can’t spend even a minute to clean their home.”

Monica’s first task was to vacuum the carpet of her clients’ home. When she was vacuuming, she came up to Angela who was still on her phone. “Excuse me, Angela,” said Monica. “What was that?” said Angela. “Oh, sorry about that. I’ll move.” She sat up and sat next to the TV.

Monica said, “I thank you for you cooperation, but why aren’t you sitting on this couch here?” Angela replied, “That’s Debbie’s spot. She claims it as her throne while she’s watching her dumb reality shows.”

Monica then said, “Can you at least go into the kitchen or your room while I’m done? No one’s claiming any of them.” Angela responded, “Sure. Better my room than the kitchen since no one has touched it for who knows how long.” As Angela went upstairs to her room, Monica thought, “The kitchen can’t be as bad as she says it is, right?”

She went into the kitchen and saw that it was like something out of a horror movie. The floor was covered in old food and dirt and there were a dozen trash bags by the stove. “How do these people live like this?” said Monica. “And I’ve cleaned one man’s home that looked exactly like this.” She took a deep breath and got to work cleaning the kitchen.

40 minutes later, the kitchen was a much better sight than before, with a shiny floor and the bags of trash gone. Monica said, “With the carpet vacuumed and the kitchen clean, I suppose the next thing to work on are the rooms of my clients.”

Monica went upstairs and knocked on the door to Angela’s room. “Angela?” she said. “I’ve come to clean your room.” There was no response, so Monica knocked on the door again. Again, there was no response. Feeling annoyed, Monica opened the door. She found Angela on her bed texting on her phone.

Angela looked up at Monica and said, “Sorry about that. I was too preoccupied texting my friend that I couldn’t hear you.” She got up and left her room. Monica thought, “It’s not like you were verbally talking with someone. How is it that you can’t hear while texting? No matter. Time for me to get to work.”

After she was done with Angela’s room, Monica headed to Debbie’s room. Before she could knock on the door, Debbie opened it and headed to the bathroom. “I was just about to clean your room,” said Monica. “Sure. Go ahead,” replied Debbie. “I’m just going to be in the bathroom for a while.”

Monica went into Debbie’s room to find the floor littered with her clothing. “A little on the messy side, but not as bad as the kitchen,” she said. “It’s nothing that I can’t take care of.”

15 minutes later, Monica was done with Debbie’s room and went over to Jeff’s. She could hear music start to play that grew louder as she approached the door. “Jeff?” said Monica as she knocked on the door. But there was no response as the music drowned out the sound of the knocking.

Monica knocked on the door harder, but Jeff did not answer. When she got aggravated, Monica pounded on the door as hard as she could, but the loud music made it difficult for Jeff to hear even that. “That’s it! I’m coming in!” she said as she grew furious from the lack of replies.

Monica opened the door, but she felt something on the other side that made it difficult for her to open it all the way. When she went into Jeff’s room, she saw that it was the messiest of the three owners, with food bags and a layer of dirt that was two inches high. “And I thought the kitchen was bad,” thought Monica.

She went up to Jeff while the music was still blasting and shouted, “I’ve come to clean your room!” Jeff looked to his left to find Monica next to him. Just as he turned the music off, “Monica shouted, “…clean this disgusting excuse of a room!”

She laughed nervously and said, “Sorry about that. I’m going to need you to leave so I can clean.” Jeff replied, “Whatever you say” and left the room. Monica looked at the messy room and said, “Now this is going to take a lot of work to get this room looking presentable.”

30 minutes later, Jeff’s room was no longer like a landfill and the floor was so shiny that Monica could see her reflection. “That actually took less time than I thought,” said Monica. “And now for the bathroom.”

She went up to the bathroom door and knocked on it. “Anyone in there?” said Monica. “I’ll be right out,” replied Debbie. She opened the door and went out. “It’s all yours to clean,” said Debbie.

Monica went in the bathroom to find a sink and tub full of hair and shampoo splattered over the walls and floor. “It’s times like this that make glad that I have short hair,” she said.

As soon as she was done with the bathroom, Monica headed downstairs where she met back with Jeff. She said to him, “I’ve cleaned your rooms, the bathroom, your living room, and your kitchen. And it took me an hour and 40 minutes, so it comes down to-”

“Wait a minute,” said Jeff. “You’re not done yet. You’ve still got our pool to take care of.” Monica replied, “Sir, it’s not my job. You’re going to have to-” Jeff interrupted her by saying, “But you need to look at it before you say anything.” He led Monica to the backyard to a pool filled with trash. Monica was horrified by such a sight on how a pool would get like that.

“That was some crazy party we had last night,” said Jeff. “Anyway, I’ll leave you to do your work. See ya.” He went back inside the house and closed the door.

“Unbelievable!” thought Monica. “To think that these people would be so careless that they would use a pool as some kind of toilet! If I had the gall, I would’ve told him, ‘Pools are for swimming, not dumping your junk in!’ Anyway, I have a job to do, after all." She set up a large plastic bag, picked up a skimmer and used it to get the trash out of the pool.

After she was done, Monica went up to Jeff who was with Debbie and Angela. She said to them, “I’ve done just about cleaned everything in your home, including the pool, so the price comes down to $50 for two hours.”

Jeff handed Monica five bills and said, “Here’s $75 and keep the change. Monica replied, “Wow. Thanks so much. And you three have a good day.” She left the house and headed to her car.

As she was starting the car, Monica thought, “Those people certainly aren’t as bad as the man told me. I mean, yes, they do have their problems and are certainly messier than one would expect, but I don’t see anything wrong with them.”

Suddenly, she heard the sound of a window breaking and the sound of people shouting. Monica found that the shouting was coming from the house she was just at. “Now what’s going on over there?” she said.

As she went back to the house, Monica saw that Angela’s phone was sitting on the lawn from the broken window. She looked inside to find the living room in disarray. “Impossible! Monica said quietly. “I haven’t even been gone that long! What happened to let it get this way?”

Monica also found that Jeff, Debbie and Angela were facing each other with angry glares. “That phone means more to me than any of you!” said Angela. Debbie said, “Maybe that’ll teach you not to sit on the couch!” Jeff said, “Debbie, you know that the couch is for everyone to sit on, not just you.”

Debbie replied, “At least I make an effort on keeping it clean, unlike you two lazy asses with the house!” “Angela said, “And this is coming from the woman that takes hours in the bathroom!”

As the three of them continued arguing, a fume ignited within Monica. Growing infuriated herself, she shouted, “All of you, just stop it!” Jeff, Debbie and Angela stop their argument and faced towards Monica.

Monica said to the three of them, “I worked my ass off to clean your house, and now my work meant nothing! And now I see what kind of people you really are: messy, lazy, and just plain aggravating! And you’re not just aggravating to other people, but to each other as well! I know what to do for people like you!”

A wave of energy was emitted from Monica’s hand that shrunk Angela, Debbie, and Jeff. She went through the door of the house and went up to the shrunken people. “Why are we small?” said Jeff. Monica replied, “Since you have a hard time keeping this home clean, I have a new home that you can be a part of.”

Jeff was the first to be picked up by the large maid. “Where is this new home that you’re going to take us?” he said. Monica replied, “You’re going to see for yourself.” She opened her mouth and Jeff’s eyes widened before he was tossed in it. Monica closed her mouth and the only thing that was seen of Jeff was his legs before he was swallowed by her.

Debbie and Angela tried to run from Monica, but their efforts were futile as she grabbed both of them. Monica looked at Debbie and said, “While there’s no throne to call your own, you still need to share the space as you settle in.” She closed her mouth on Debbie’s head, slowly slurped her up and gulped her down as well.

“And now that only leaves you,” Monica said to Angela. Angela shook her head waved her arms in protest and said, “Please don’t eat me!” Monica said, “If you and the others didn’t spit in the face of my work, I wouldn’t have to eat you. Say hi to your friends for me in there.”

She closed her mouth on Angela’s legs and slowly slurped her up as well. Angela tried pulling herself out of Monica’s mouth, but her efforts were in vain as she was made a meal of the maid. After she swallowed Angela, Monica said, “Welcome to your new home. It might feel cramped in there, but enjoy it while you can.”

After Monica left the house, the elderly man asked her, “What happened in there? I heard you shouting, but I couldn’t figure out what happened after that. Those three didn’t get to you, did they?” Monica replied, “No. And let’s just say that I had them sit someplace to think about what they’ve done.”

She let out a burp and then said, “You’ll have to excuse me. I had a small lunch while I was back over there. Anyway, I have to go. I’ll see you around.” Monica headed to her car and drove away.

As the elderly man watched Monica drive off, he said, “That’s one brave woman, I’ll give her that. Maybe I could call her and have her clean my house.”

Monica goes to clean the house of three college students that share the home. With their messy and lazy lifestyle, will they get the best of the magic maid, or will she teach them a lesson?

Anyway, enjoy.
