I feel Padparadscha ties into theory I've had about Era 2 Gems a little bit after Peridot brought up her inability to shape-shift in "To Short To Ride". What if the reason Era 2 Gems don't have special powers(or think they don't in Peridot's case) has nothing to do with dwindling resources and everything to do with the Rebellion on Earth. Rose's Rebellion was unprecedented by any standard of the word, the Diamonds have never had to worry about their subjects disobeying or outright defying them before so after the Rebellion they went out of their way to make it so that their newer subjects couldn't follow Rose's example. I believe the Diamonds purposefully started making Era 2 Gems without special powers and gave them advanced weapons instead(weapons that could probably be shut down if need be). And heres where Padparadscha comes in, true we don't know if she's an Era 1 or 2 Gem but if she were an an incredibly rare Sapphire made with these new neutered methods it would definitely result in a less effective final product. Something to think about. Sorry for the rant, This is really well done.
