A private project where I wanted to focus on sound design as well as working with Red Giant's Psunami.

I really like Psunami and the results speak for themselves but working with this plugin is a real test of patience ;-)

The stormy sea has always captured my imaginition with its high waves and dark water. For me this scenario always had a certain mystique to it which I tried to capture in this animation.

btw: is this thumbnail awesome or what? -.-

After Effects??? You can draw in After Effects?? I thought you could only do Visual Effects and Editing in After Effects???????????:baffled: :baffled: :baffled: :baffled: :baffled: :baffled: :baffled: :baffled:

There seems to be misunderstanding here. I meant that whenever I animate I animate with after effects - sry if I didn't make that clear in my prev comment

Oh and I wouldn't recommend AE for editing...like at all ^^

Spooky. That deep trench in the first half makes it unclear as to which way is up. Which I think is the kind of disorientation you would feel if you were drifting in that....

Beautiful.  The light on the water textures is mesmerizing.   I love the sound track too.   Well done!

:D You were very successful!!  I hope to do as well with a similar subject one day.

I hope to make animations inspired by music on a maritime theme -- two pieces in particular, "The Hebrides Overture", and the Overture to "Der Fliegende Hollander".

aahh, two very beautiful pieces, especially Hebrides Overture.
Any ideas about your workflow yet?

Well, the basics are established long ago.   Blender will be the basic tool.   The ocean simulator will likely figure prominently.    "Hebrides" will feature a one-man sailboat on a stormy sea, as unlikely as that may sound.    The action will be driven by the music; otherwise no plot, really.   I may have to take only an excerpt from the Flying Dutchman overture.   Hard to imagine a plot that would unit the whole of the overture.  But it must feature a tall ship, a square-rigger.  I don't know that there is any authentic description of the ship from which the legend originates, though there are some avatars out there -- possibly authentic in the same sense that Coca-Cola ads of the past century are an authentic representation of Saint Nicholas.

Sounds like a good plan ^^

Although I took a short 3D modeling class I never rly got into it....but good luck to you
