read dream*scar!

d*s vote bait for about a week ago... did you manage to miss it? Well here it is! XD

Anyway, this is just some sketches from the notebook where I wrote the first draft of dream*scar, back in 2003, alongside their comic counterparts. :) I thought it would be a fun thing for the fans to get to see, and I will probably do this at the end of every vol [unless people would rather me do it at the end of each chapter...?]

Enjoy :)

Wow. It's amazing to see such a radical change in your artwork! Gives me hope that someday I might get better and be just a fraction of how good you are! xD

haha it is natural to improve :C! it just takes a lot of time and drawing to get there... but you'll always be looking up at someone no matter how much you improve. SUCH IS THE LIFE OF AN ARTIST XD

that's actual inspirational as far as webcomic stuff goes i have a ton of crappy story bored stuff for my current and old web comic concepts that are still yet to be finished.. but seeing your transformation from your old work to your new work is a bit interpersonal for me to finish one of my webcomics as more then just the ruff drafts

Yes, Dead Space 2 inspires many artistic things, but mostly it inspires horror. Lots of horror.

I couldn't play the first one at night for four levels.

Your drawing style changed a lot. Looks like another person did the notebook sketches!

Well, you drew it in 2003, right? In 2003 all I could draw was Stick-figures.

Ahhhh, very cool! I love it when artists post things like this. It's so interesting to look at and for whatever reason, it's inspirational. :]

You've made so much growth over the years. So cool to look at...

Oh, so is it that you drew everything in the margin of the notebook and wrote notes/captions next to them in the writing space?

And what about the scene with the hot, long, brown haired dude in the jail cell? Was that part of the 2003 version or something new you added in?

(Sorry for all the questions, it's just that things like these early artist versions things really intrigue me.)

Ohh no it was like written like a novel. Uhm...a very poorly written novel LOL. Sometimes I would give up and just scribble a summary for a scene if it wasn't working out tho. Or, "make it so they end up at this other place somehow" LOL. And I would figure it out later... But I did draw pics in the side anyway... normally I would draw them after the scene, but sometimes I'd doodle little comics in the margin LOL. Like this note: there was never a caesar in d*s... that's the joke.......

And the guy in the jail cell was there before too... hmm... I feel like I'd drawn a pic of him before too, actually... I wonder if I lost it? [oh wait, i found it but it's from vol 2 lol... cos she does see him there again xD;]

I LOVE looking at this. It really shows how you've improved and added depth to your style over the years. 2003 is kind of typical-looking manga-style, but now it's very distinctive and beautiful. ^^
