It was really romantic. They choose to use an earthly ritual to represent their feelings for each other and to share it with those they care about.

It is rather funny how they decided to switch their gender appropriate outfits to the opposite one of what they would usually wear.

Love the art, as always it is a pleasure to see yours. True to the official art, but with a spin of your own worked into it.

I'd rather not go into the whole discussion about wether it was or wasn't gay, holy or unholy. What matters is the bond of trust and love.
Thank you very much other commentators for spreading hatred over fictional characters and or your beliefs.
You are entitled to have them, but don't expect people to follow them when you are in a place that clearly loves to celebrate a different believe.
If you believe we will go to hell for it, then please let us choose to go to the place that is hell for you as it may very well be a heaven for us.
Like me, you don't know what will happen after we die. We can only hope for what we feel is best for us. Don't be an unwanted self-proclaimed hero.
(Oh great, I probably started something that will get commented on ^^;. Be warned, I probably won't respond.)

Think about it! They reproduce by shooting junk into the ground & then they pop out fully grown. And they have no gender, sure they look like women, but they are literally, polymorphic sentient rocks! And I understand the message they're trying to push, but it falls flat on it's face. I'm not trying to be rude, or ignorant. I'm merely stating matters of fact. And the fact is this, the only gem who has a gender, is Steven.
I'm sorry for dumping all over everyone's parade, but I'm getting sick of people liking the show, simply because of "gay pride!" They're species doesn't even work the same way as humans. It's ridiculous!

That's technically true, but it's still pretty clear that the writers want to comment on sexuality with their show. In fact, Homeworld treats the fusion of different kinds of gems as unnatural, so Ruby and Sapphire's story is at the least metaphorically about homosexuality and homophobia.

Hm, I guess thats a way of looking at it. It's totally fine that you see gems as genderless, but I personally, like the idea of them being girls! However, looking from a scientific standpoint, you'd be right! I personally like the show for it's plot, not because of 'gay pride'. I guess in the eyes of whoever's watching, it can be gay or straight.

I always thought of Ruby as the man in the relationship. I wish I could've seen sapphire in a wedding dress. But still... The wedding was wonderful! Besides the diamonds intruding...

Um OK sorry for not understanding. I feel offended for you calling me a sicko. What the hell, I literally made an assumption and you call me a sicko. No need. Just tell me I'm wrong and carry on. It's not that hard.

The butch and tomboyish Ruby is in the dress and the quiet and feminine Sapphire is in the tuxedo.
