Hello there, the author chiming in here. Thanks for giving the story a read.

(Spoilers to follow for those who have not read it yet.)

The disc is the conduit by which the entity is able to interact with our world. It established a connection to Bonnie's soul through the disc, so when she shattered it, she was able to sever that connection and save herself, but the entity is still safe in Sonic's world, and will eventually cause another copy of the disc to manifest somewhere else in our world.

As far as the defeat of the monster goes, I went for a "toss a light into the future" approach. It wasn't seriously hurt, but events have transpired, information has been gained by Sonic, and the hope is that what has happened here has caused some gears to start spinning, and events may have been put into motion that might eventually lead to the final defeat of the monster.

There's no need to delete anything - it's not that big of a deal, and don't worry, as I had said, I knew what you originally meant.
Assault on the Death Egg
I certainly want to thank you for the in depth assessment.
Vision: I'm certainly glad you noted the elements you did in this section. They were the very ones I was paying special attention to.
Originality: I understand what you are saying here, but do watch your wording. This is certainly my picture, even if it's not my concept. As for the new perspective, it demonstrates what I love doing best - putting a new spin on very familiar scenes.
Following categories: Thank you for your comments in these areas. They are quite insightful.

Thanks for the critique.
Assault on the Death Egg
I thank you greatly for taking the time to generate this critique. I am most glad that you mentioned the lighting - with the source material being as modern as it was, it seemed lighting was one of the only places that could be improved upon. In particular, I'm glad to see you mention Eggman's saw - that took quite a few attempts to get right, and I really toyed around with the idea of what material I wanted conveyed. It was conveyed properly.

Thank you for your input, and I am glad you like the result.
The Final Testament of Metal Sonic's New Power
Thank you greatly for generating this critique. Indeed this boss really put your knowledge of the game's physics to the test. It's so satisfying to stay balanced on the Doc's head for those first 16 hits and watch him fruitlessly shoot straight forward again and again.

I'm certainly glad I could bring this piece to dA, and I'm certainly glad you like it as well.

Thank you for your input.
