HayleyWolf:
It was time for the fawnlings to make their way into the rings, their handlers by their side. The halter show was just about to begin. The five fawnlings would enter the ring and walk around it, showing of their confirmation for the judges to see. Rayma felt completely calm as she held the lead rope of her fawnling, Lucina. The pale doe loved the limelight, so she suspected this to go well. Behind her, Slade was giving his handler some trouble. He nipped at her a few times and it was unclear as to whether he was playing or not. Rayma looked back to the fawnling and handler before her. She recognized them. She couldn't remember the handler’s name, but knew the fawnling as Darwin. He was a cute guy. A ways behind them, there was Cursed Fire and Tormento. Slade was to be kept away from Curse at all times. For some reason, the blue roan really wanted to take a chunk out of the striped stag.
The announcer called for them to enter the arena. Darwin and his handler started forward, Lucina and Rayma quick to follow. Slade and his handler followed a bit closer than she would like. She didn't like the blue roan stag, or trust him. Cursed Fire and Tormento also followed, in single fire. Slade had spotted Cursed Fire at the end of the line and was watching him, a devilish look in his eyes. “Don't you dare.” His handler hissed.
Halloweendonkey:
Requiem wasn’t so nervous despite the stag shaking the head at the other side of the rope. Cursed fire, of course, had spotted right away Slade and the blonde handler already smelled problems. He rolled the eyes, pulling on the rope a little more rudely than intended. “Cursed, if you make any problem, you’ll regret it!” The stag rolled the eyes, he knew the handler would never hurt him but he still took the thread seriously. He snorted loudly, both for his handler and the other stag who, he was sure, was listening at him.
Fortunately the two other stags were quiet. Both Tormento and Darwin listened their handlers without any tantrum, awaiting their turn to enter the arena. They wasn’t so used to shows yet, but they would did it great, it was certain. Requiem looked at Lucina. She was really a pretty doe, no doubt about it, and really focused on the upcoming show. She probably liked it ! It was finally their turn to under under the spotlights and the preferences of each fawnlings where obvious. Lucina directly took the position, head and tail high, showing to the stags the good behavior. From what Requiem could see Slade wasn’t in the same mood, but fortunately Cursed fire decided to behave. Maybe he was a little more proud than usual, flashing around his impressive rack, chest puffed. Tormento and Darwin looked around with curiosity, without really knew what to do else than follow their handlers.
HayleyWolf:
Slade’s ears were pinned flat back against his skull as he entered the arena. However, when the blue stag caught a glimpse of Cursed Fire, who had his head held high with pride, something happened that shocked them all. Slade suddenly threw his head up. His strides became longer, his slender legs lifting higher. His tail arched and flagged behind him sassily. Damn, he was showing off! His handler laughed, thrilled that, for once, Slade was doing what he wanted him to do. It was a damn miracle! Slade was trying his best to impress Lucina, but the silver doe was ignoring everyone. She paid no attention to Darwin and Tormento, who were on their best behavior, either. Who needed stags? She had the limelight!
Rayma laughed, looking back at Requiem. “I think that the boys are going to be too busy trying to outclass each other to fight.” She said. It was the first time she'd mustered up the courage to say anything to any of the other handlers. Lucina, at her side, was now eyeballing Slade and Cursed Fire. She had competition. Her eyes flitted over Darwin and Tormento briefly. Neither stag seemed to have as much competitive fire as she or the other two did. Their handlers didn't seem to mind though. Determination coursed through the doe as she sped up, leaping gracefully through the air. Her blue eyes held a challenge for the boys.
Halloweendonkey:
Darwin and Tormento finally realized the doe’s behavior and tried to copy it, talking for a moment an incredibly snorty and feminine behavior, making Cursed fire snort, annoyed. Hey what ? They had the best example of the good stag and they copied a doe? Even Slade was doing better ! talking of Slade, the stripped stag was surprised. For once he was doing what he had to do without argue or try to fight. He smirked. Ahlala, pride! It could take the best and the worse of a stag ! They finally changed their mind to copy their movements on Slade, puffing the chest and walking with elegancy, even if with a little less prestance. They were both smaller and less muscled, even if their coat made them really pretty.
Cursed fire nodded, agreeing with that new behavior. It wasn’t perfect -after all they obviously took Slade as model- but it was still better than does. They were males damnit! It made people laugh a little. Four stags showing off with pride, with the doe didn’t giving a fuck in the middle of them. But at least, they were all good. Judges looked appreciate the change of mood, and started to talk together, probably to give their note to each of them. Requiem couldn’t help but smile, shaking softly the head. That Slade was someone for sure! As hot headed as Cursed!
HayleyWolf:
Lucina noted the way that the stags imitated her, and that made her feel rather proud! It was funny to see them acting like a doe, but they did look rather pretty doing it! Not prettier than her though! She set back to showing off, lifting her slender legs high. Rayma laughed loudly when she spotted Darwin and Tormento imitating the silvery doe. Cursed didn't look so impressed, obviously wondering why they were imitating him instead. Slade was still putting his all into the show as well, lifting his legs high and flagging his tail put behind him.
The blue roan stag glanced over at Cursed, snorting loudly in challenge. He wasn't going to let the other outdo him! Cursed kind of had the upper hand, with a deep coat and those intricate stripes… Slade would never admit it, but the other stag was far more attractive than he was. He would just have to look better with his movements! Snorting proudly, the roan stag circled around the arena, actually obeying his handler...or so it seemed. Honestly his handler was more or less just there and following him around the arena. As Slade passed Lucina he sent her a wry nip, trying to make her lose her concentration. She simply glared at him hatefully in response. Stupid stag!
Halloweendonkey:
Cursed wasn’t impressed, and showed himself as well, walking with elegancy, his head high and his muscles rolling under his skin. It was a battle of style! All fawnlings on the stage were giving their best, elegant, awesome, mane floating like precious flags and eyes shining under the lights. Even Darwin and Tormento finished to find their own style, and rolled the neck, knees high, tail lifted. Their handlers couldn’t be more proud!
However, after a moment, too focused on his steps, Tormento missed one and bumped into Lucina’s rump, making both lose balance. The young stag rolled on the ground in a ouf, almost hitting his handler in the move, and stood on the ground a moment, ashamed. Darwin came closer, a little worried he could have hurt himself in the fall, but neither dared look at Lucina, sure the doe would be pissed. Finally Tormento stand up again, shaking his body to chase away the sand of the arena from his coat, and tried to continue the show, as best as he could.
Cursed, a moment, had been ready to yell at the young stag ruining their show, but he had to admit Tormented had some courage to try again despite the shame. His movement weren’t as proud as before, so the stripped boy could tell his mood had took a hit, but he still tried. He glanced at Slade, daring him to say anything about his stable mate.
HayleyWolf:
They had almost reached the center of the arena, where they would stand proud and tall, when everything went all to pieces. Tormento suddenly bumped into Lucina. The stag hit the ground, his balance lost. Lucina squealed in surprise, her own rump hitting the ground, although she didn’t fall completely. Rather than be angry, she just craned her head around to look at the young buck with wide eyes, wondering if he was alright. That really looked like it had hurt! “Is he okay!?” Rayma asked with concern, but she could see no obvious injuries. When Tormento got back to his feet it was clear that he was okay, just rather humiliated. Lucina was alright too, of course. He hadn’t hit her hard enough to cause any damage. Her coat was a total disaster now, though. She didn’t stand too much of a chance at winning this thing, as there was no way they could judge how healthy and shiny her coat was when it was totally covered in dirt! Oh well. Better luck next time, she supposed.
Slade was looking like it was all he could do not to laugh. The small audience that had gathered here today were already chuckling and giggling at poor Tormento’s misfortune. Slade could feel Cursed’s eyes on him. The roan turned his head, looking at the striped stag with an amused expression. His expression said it all. “Your stable mate is an idiotic!” Then they carried on, trying to regain what dignity they had in this competition. Slade came to a halt as his handler directed him to before the judges, standing tall. Lucina did the same, though her silvery coat was covered in dirt now. Tormento didn’t look the greatest either, but at least he was alright, right? The pale doe was a bit of an odd one. Sometimes she got very irritated and hateful at the slightest of things, but sometimes she was very compassionate. Weirdly enough, she was feeling pretty compassionate at the moment and was rather concerned about Tormento , even if it seemed that he was alright. Slade cared about nobody but himself as he stood tall, looking the judges dead square in the eyes. They didn’t think they’d ever seen a fawnling look them in the eyes so boldly before. It was really quite unnerving.
Halloweendonkey:
Tormento was sorry for Lucina, her coat all dirty now,but at least she didn’t looked too worried about it. After all they would have many other shows to compensate! For this time Slade and Cursed fire were the stars, even if it was difficult for Cursed to admit Slade was at his level this time. He snorted, hating the roan stag of all his heart. He really had no heart! Himself was sometimes rude, but what happened to the young stag wasn’t funny. Or maybe it was only because he was a stable mate, and Shame away, he felt he had to take the rank of leader at his place, and protect his herd. Standing near the young buck, he tried to give him self confidence back while showing off. If he could beat Slade! It would be perfect !
Darwin was sorry for his friend, but Tormento looked alright now. The dun boy gave a soft lick on Lucina nose to thanks her, and waited quietly the end of the show. He wouldn’t place this time, but least he didn’t abandoned, and everyone was in good health.
