Kate had another class to enter, so she couldn't participate to the bomb proofing one with Kryptonite. When I saw how stressed the other girl was about figuring out where to be (and likely how to clone herself so she could be many places at once!) I offered to take Kryptonite through the trial for her. The lilac roan stag was pretty chill, so I didn't expect it to be much of a challenge… He couldn't be any worse than Shine. Kate had been relieved and quickly babbled about where she had put his tack before taking off to her next class, the fawnling she was competing in tow. Poor Kate always stressed herself way too much.

So, there I sat upon Kryptonite. The pale stag was eerily calm, as always. He never seemed to show any signs of emotion. It was really weird and creepy, to be honest. Well at least this should be a smooth ride. The entrance guardians motioned for us to go forwards. Nudging Kryptonite gently, I sent the pale stag forwards in a brisk trot. Right away he was watching the obstacles. His ears didn't move and I couldn't feel any tension in his muscles, but I could see his head turning as he took in the obstacle course. I expected to hear a snort of apprehension, but none ever came. He was completely calm and collected.

The first obstacle we came across looked like a pit of writhing snakes. I knew that they were mechanical, but to Kryptonite they would look very real. The lilac stag’s ears pinned, but that's the only sign of emotion that he gave. He just skirted around the slithery fiends, picking up his pace to a canter to get away from them quickly. He wasn't freaked out, but he wasn't about to stick around either. It struck me as to how beautiful he must look right now, illuminated by the silvery light of the moon. His coat must look like pure silver too! Kate certainly had a beautiful fawnling. Not even Shine looked so lovely beneath the moonlight. Not that she really tried.

The second obstacle was a mechanical vampire, much like the zombies. Perhaps the hosts of the show had decided to put the zombies away before they received any more damage from my fawnlings… Oops. The vampire’s cape fluttered in the cold breeze and a hissing sound ripped from it's metal lips. It leaned towards Kryptonite, making that awful hissing sound. Kryptonite's ears slicked back to his skull once again and he picked up his pace, quickly but calmly leaving the vampire behind. The other obstacles weren't so bad. We neared the end now, where the guardians of the exit were. I knew what was coming next. Simultaneously, they lunged towards Kryptonite. He threw himself forwards in a brisk gallop, but his pace wasn't that of a panicked fawnling. He just wanted them to leave him alone!

Kryptonite's bomb proofing had gone well, but honestly… it was a bit boring!
