I drew this for the contest in :iconmuslim-manga: They are Kusanagi Shiyu and Yuzuriha Nekoi from X/1999 (my favorite couple ever!) In here I made them as a father and a daughter. Since in the X series, Kusanagi Shiyu has the power to communicate with plants, so here he taught Yuzuriha (as his daughter XD) to gardening.

Need almost one whole day to draw this. The leaves were killing my right-hand thumb >,<

Special Thanks for Mr. Ian Wongkar. His tutorial was really helpful for me to draw those pink flowers and butterfly ^_^
Reference: Nami Akimoto's Les Milles Fleur

Hope you like it^^

How nice this scene looks, and I can still imagine how they two would still get along after the ending for X/1999. Wonderfully colored and brilliantly sketched :)

Alhamdulillah :D Thank you for your appreciation :D

If I'm not mistaken, these two characters were one of the few who got good ending in the TV animation ver. At least they're still together, right? :D

Are you a fan of X/1999 by CLAMP? :D Nice to meet you :D

No problem, my friend. :)

And yes, they are still together in the TV anime adaptation (good ending it had). Kusanagi had often a soft side as well a sweet tooth & loved nature, Yuzuriha also had a sweet tooth along with the fact Inuki was her spiritual pet companion as well was always happy-go-lucky. The relationship between Kusanagi & Yuzuriha always reminded me a bit of the one Travis Bickle & Iris Steensma in Taxi Driver (if you haven't watched that film yet).

I sure am. Highly considered X/1999 to be their magnum opus because of the thrilling storytelling with its amazing illustrations (in style) & characters. I've read most of the manga and saw the TV anime adaptation for it (which I do have on DVD) before, but never saw its movie adaptation (for which I've heard it was messed up & very dark). A very good old artistic best friend of mine in school first introduced X/1999 to me, and got on to reading it few years later & fell in love reading it before watching the TV anime adaptation for it. I would be more than happy to discuss the series with you anytime, it's pretty rare to see anyone who's a huge fan on that work around the site. Plus an honor to meet you as well. :)

X/1999 Fandom is not died yet. There are still a lot of artists here who draw and cosplay X/1999. I join some CLAMP and X/1999 group here, and post my CLAMP or X/1999's fanarts there.

Do you know ChibiYuuto sites and Fanpage? He updates news about Clamp's Works, both the old and the new ones.

I firstly know about CLAMP also from my friend. Since my early junior high school time.

It's great to know you as well :)

And so I see, which is great to hear. I need to post in my older sketches I've done on X/1999 sometime soon. (Got the whole series on DVD still)

I don't think I've ever heard of ChibiYuuto before, but I should check out his page though. :)

Good short background story about how you got into CLAMP's works. With myself on discovering their stuff, to be honest I've watched Cardcaptor Sakura when it was new to TV as a child before discovering more of their works later in school. Still another all-time classic that's still their most well-known work today as well it spawned a new sequel (if you haven't heard yet).

Likewise. ;)

thank you =D

yes, I use pencil color, since I'm suck in digital coloring T-T

Which one which?

firstly do u have a tablet, and secondly - you should look at some paint tool sai tuts and see how easy it is - I haven't tried sai out , but will soon, and the way you blend the colours is soo easy, ofc u have to practice and all, that comes in time, and considering you coloured pencils skills to be awesome, you should definately try digital, its worth it :D

No, unfortunately I have no tablet. Saving money to buy one =D

Well I once downloaded SAI and...have no idea what to do with that T-T. Usually I used photoshop, but it took really long time for me just to edit one work. So, I decide to back to manual mode XD and practice my manual sketches. I was too dependent on photoshop that I became less and less careful while lining my arts.

There are so much better pencil color artists in DA (I really want to bite my fingers every time I stare at their works XD), I hope I could be one of them.

I'll try digital again next time in the future, but for now, I need to practice my manual and pencil color draw =D

Its definatly true that u need to practice line art first, as its the base of the entire piece, and your doing great anyways :D, the best thing to do to improve your line art is to instead of sketch the lines , you have to do it in one go, confident, other then that, practice makes perfect :D
