When I take a portrait, I like to get involved with the subject. I feel the need for direct contact between me, as the documentary photographer and the individual person..
This was taken in the mid 1960s, when I was a nerdy teenager with a 35mm SLR and an interest in beautiful girls. Too much time has passed to remember exactly who she was, but the nerdy teenager is still within, and my direct style of portraiture continues.
Taken with my Exakta VX IIa, with 58mm F2.0 Zeiss Biotar, on Kodak Tri-X 135mm panchromatic film.

A mystery grab from the negatives, piled up and waiting to be rediscovered from my past images. This was the one that stood out from the twelve I restored, a good ratio.
