Description
How old are you today. Did you think you'll be young forever? When I was this age, under 20, I never anticipated growing older as life changed so slowly. Now I'm 70 and the cycle has sped up, a lot.
I took this playing with an older used camera that came my way. It was nothing special, just a model made in the 1950s, a Ricolet 35mm with guess focus, guess shutter, and guess apertures. I hadn't taken any self portraits in a while so I did the mirror thing. It was likely in the late 1960s but I don't recognize the background.
The point is you will change and it's good to record the now, before it becomes the distant past. I had hair back then and evidently a face that didn't need to be photographed, only the memory of the camera.
Feel free to download, just give me photo credit.

I reversed the negative to make the letters correct. Taken on Tri-X 135mm panchromatic film, which I would buy in 100 foot lengths for economy, then load myself into 35mm film cans of 36 exposures.
You could ask how is this a self portrait if my face is covered. The fact by including the camera it more carefully represents my life, as the camera is truly a part of me. For the fun of growing older.
