I've usually heard the unmade third Cushing film referred to as Dr. Who: Daleks vs Mecons.

To my knowledge, there was ment to be a 3rd Dalek film in the 1960's, based on the TV story 'The Chase' that introduced the Mechanoids, but for reasons that currently escape my mind, it never eventually got made.

Back in the 1970's, if you don't know the story already, Tom Baker and the late actor Ian marter who played 4th Doctor companion harry Sullivan, teamed up to make a Doctor Who film called 'Doctor Who meets Scratchman'. Given that this was 1977, they heard about this new Sci-Fi film a man called George Lucas had made entitled 'Star Wars'. So one day, they went to the Cinema and saw this new space epic . . . . and thought "sod it, we can't compete with something like that !", so they never made the film, but in recent years, their film has been made into a novel tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Scratch…

Dang, having Jim Dale as a Doctor Who companion is the coolest idea EVER! It should've happened!

Yeah, Daleks - Invasion Earth 2150 AD was not very successful so they scrapped any plans to make a third one. Shame, as although I didn't really like the first one very much 'Daleks Invasion' was actually a really fun and enjoyable film. Would have been great if they'd stuck with it and made a whole series of Doctor Who films, perhaps basing some on nondalek storys too.

I did not know that Tom Baker and Ian Marter planned to make a Doctor Who film no! I'm kind of shocked that I didn't. Thanks for letting me know. I'd seen the Scratchman book for sale but had no idea that that's what it was.
I only knew that Douglas Adams wanted to make a Doctor Who film around that time too.
There are so many DW books coming out all the time that I can't keep track of it all and most of them do not blip my radar, however you have got me interested in this Scratchman book now. Thanks.

Your very welcome. I myself don't have an interest in every new Doctor Who book, I just take an interest in one's that seem of interest to me, such as 'How to be a Time Lord', 'A Brief History of Time Lords', 'How to be the Doctor's Companion' [at least, I think that's the title] and 'Tardis - Type 40 Instuction Manual' that came out 2 years back.
