Springs Grand Extrance
Spring arrived in a trill—
What a thrill—
Lilting off the tongue
Of a young
Robin.
It strutted
in spiritual swirls
and baton twirls.
Catching a breeze,
floating with ease,
until it stumbled
onto thunder’s stage.
The whole sky leaned in, amazed
at its performance—
then the mike dropped,
heralding the season.
It tumbled
its verdant head
over high pink heels,
falling with rain
in warm, heavy drops.
It arrived,
waking the earth
up again.
