I have a small gallery of little ideas I would love to do for upcoming cons, but with my lack of skill, it put a damper on things. Finding the materials wouldn't feel so depressing if I knew I could use them the way they're supposed to be. All I can come up with is Pokemon Gijinkas because I know if I tried something from an actual anime, especially one well know, I'd become the object of my own nasty criticisms. I had wanted to do Arctic Warfare Caitlyn, but living in an apartment with no real access to the powertools for sanding, I refuse to try the costume without the weapon. It's really nothing without it (coming from when I wore my best friend's Gunner Yuna and was missing the whole half of the name--the guns).
There is an anime I've watched on Hulu called Girl's High, that I would cosplay a character out of (and she has several odd costumes), but then the lack of recognition is the price I pay. I might as well carry a picture around of the character so I go, see? This is so and so, saving them the time and effort of looking it up (if they even cared to). Although, there is that off chance people would be like 'Oh my god I don't know who you are but can I get pictures of/with you?!' It's 50/50 really.
My next con is local to the college nearby, Setsucon. After that is Katsu which I'm not sure I'll even attend alone And probably with time constraints, just Otakon after that, even though I would /love/ to broaden my con horizons this year (gotta try new things for the new year after all).
Feel free to post any suggestions!
