Digital painting vs oil painting

I have yet to create or even attempt to produce my first digital painting although it's been on my bucket list for nearly a decade. I'm still scraping the rust off of my long abandoned art skills, and more than little nervous about attempting to understand new medium. Which is what it is. The process and ways of manipulating charcoal differs form oil which differs from acrylic and from watercolor. Each requires its own unique treatment. Digital seems to be a separate technique as well, which combines all the techniques and includes the more technical skills of the computer program. Which I absolutely hate, I hate layers and curves and masks!

So I'm finally done with school... & launched right into motherhood.
I'm 7.5 months pregnant with my first son.
This is quite different from my reality a year ago.
I'm still working on my southern gothic collection. The 2nd painting is near completion. Sadly painting doesn't give me the same passionate obsession I use to crave.

!I just want to thank everyone for all the comments and support. I'm sorry if I fail or delay to respond to any comments, I haven't checked my DA account for 2 years! And I want to go back to painting soon, which has been an ongoing goal which met a few failed attempts in the past 2 years. But as soon as my toddler learns to not topple my easel and eat my paints I shall make another attempt.
