Disillusionment and despair—

chaos reigns everywhere,

The disintegration of the

modern world.

Fires flicker in ghostly delight.

Landscapes are erased, bodies

burning, human cruelties

revealed without disguise.

It flutters like a starving bat,

muttering its cracked

prophecy into the stillness—

a dirge drifting through

time unchanged.

We wither and perish

into minute shards

every passing day.

Only to replicate ourselves

in the same collapsing realm,

within our doomed ways.

This is where centuries

of claimed civilization

have led us.

This is the extent

of our knowledge

in action.

This is not us

It cannot be

We are not what

we're supposed to be

Soon grotesque

poisoned bodies

will be twisting in

the streets.

Maybe your street

by your home.

In the end...

Who are we truly killing—

except ourselves,
