Entry for the North-Antrim-Trials
Starting number: 15
Rider: Isa (Isolde) Leeuwenhart
'I know you don't like the rain boy, but you'll have to do. And it's not for to long, later on it will be dry, and tomorrow the sun is even shining!' Isa patted her annoyed grey stallion on his neck and his ears flickered for a second. Isa felt that Karim wasn't happy, but she also knew it was nothing serious. Karim was just a big baby when it came to the weather.
They started their first event on the North-Anterim Trails, a three day endurance run at the beautiful coastline of North Ireland. A few days before she scouted the track with Alex, but now she was alone with Karim, and they were on their way!
Soon they would arrive at checkpoint C, the first checkpoint where Alex would be. Alex had insisted the day before that he would check on them at at least 2 checkpoints a day. He was a bit worried. Karim had previous experience with endurance, but it had been a while. Isa agreed with his demand, only if he would take pictures at the checkpoints. So Alex was standing in the rain, waiting for the couple. When he spotted a grey horse with someone with the Dutch flag colours on it's back, he grabbed his camera. They were running strong, he saw, Isa had a grin on her face. When they came closer Alex yelled 'Go Isa, Go Karim!' Karim recognised the voice of Alex and found a bit more power. Isa encouraged him even more by giving him some big pats on his neck. They flew by, and Alex was amazed by how they looked. Wet, but very strong! He smiled as he got into his car, moving to the next checkpoint.
'Whoooooh boy.' Isa whispered when they got past the checkpoint. 'You don't have to show off anymore, there are no people here, haha.' Isa looked in the distance. They had a long road ahead of them. She would be sore after the three days, that was guaranteed. She was allready looking forward to the day off between endurance and the dressage competition. Karim snorted, and got Isa out of her mind. Afar, she saw the clouds getting lighter and even some sunbeams peeking between them. 'Okay boy, let's do this.' she whispered to her horse, and they cantered on.
