"Snow in a desert?" Tony grumbled, still not beleving it. His arms were crossed even as he stood there, watching his grown sister get the mare ready for the show. He kicked at the desert sand with his foot.

"Oh hush, Tony." Jen growled. "Ofcoarse it snows in deserts, you just havent seen it before. When it happens its usually at night."

Jens daughter Kayla, whom was helping her mom, chirped, "I think its beautiful!" Kayla was 19 now, and it sort of rushed to her uncle all at once just how grown she was, and he sighed unhappily. He was getting old.

"Why dont you take some pictures, K?" Jen offered, just to be happily turned down with an 'I already did'

"I dont think Ovie is ready for this show at all. Just look how many horses are here..." Tony was refering to the over 80 other horses at the event, entered for the halter class alone. "Dont you remember Lizzys first event and how she placed 47th out of 50 entries?" Tony shook his head negatively, "I just dont want that to happen to THIS mare, she has too much promice... Too much potential."

"Well its not like we can just scratch out already. Were already here... theres SNOW in this DESERT remember?!" Kayla mused.

Disregarding Kaylas comment, Jen seriously regarded Tony, pausing from her grooming to do so. The filly simply looked around with alert ears and wide eyes, nostrils flared. "And ofcoarse how could you forget that Teddy got 10th in that event, and Lady got 2nd. Both of wich it was their first events." She paused, "Some horses just prefer smaller crowds, such as a shy horse like Lizzy." She looked to Ovie, and smoothed her mane out, placing the delecate ribbon in her hair. "Ovie seems to like the crouds. Just as long as theres nothing loud running at her... she likes being around other horses. Shes a very social filly." Jen then added, "Besydes, we really need the money."

"You mean there is actually a money prize this time? Usually its just ribbons or trophys..." Tony said spectically.

"The prize is $10,000." Jen mused, "now wouldnt that look great if she won that much in her first event?"

Tony's jaw dropped.

Kayla finnished the rest of the grooming for her, and Jen reminded her to take a snapshot of Ovie during her preformance. Tony simply grumbled and waited in the truck for a while before wandering over to view the other events. He hated halter shows. Nothing but vain horses and vain owners. He prefered events that actually required tallent other than natural born beauty.

It was their turn, and so Jen led WBS Overlooked Beauty to the designated show area, and their preformance began. Ovie never lost her lively looks, nor the precious ribbon.

OH. MAI. GAWD. This took me toooooo lonnngggg but I am sooooo proud of it!!! Wholymuthertruckinba-jesus!!! She looks so good!!! I wanna cry c': No words can even describe my pride over this peice of artwork. I don think I have tried so hard to make something look good in my life
Does the shading look sloppy Never tried it this way before.. I don really like it

As for the ribbon... I chose pink because my best friends mom, whom I was also VERY close to, died recently of Breast Cancer and various other cancers. I knew her for years, and it really took a chunk out of me, and I admit to crying for a breif moment while drawing up the ribbon. She is greatly missed ~<3
Aswell as this, my moms good friend survived breast cancer. There had only been 2 other survivors in the history of breast cancer to survive it with the severity level it was at, and this woman told the doctor streight up, "Then I will be #3." And despite the odds, she became #3 and is healthy as ever. And most importantly, alive. ~<3
