Description
2015 Arlington Million
The staff at White Blood Stables had been giving extensive care to their little white filly, and with help from Harusame Meadow's sith lords, WBS Ghost Hour had been blessed with a swift recovery. The filly was 4 years old now, and Dallas had many plans to sort out for her mare, including racing schedule and her future breeding schedule. They had rested her a good time after her injury before introducing her right back into her scheduled work outs and training. She was really filling out into her frame now, no longer the thin, awkwardly shaped filly she was. She was now blossoming into a muscular, thick girl, with a wide chest and neck, followed by a deep barrel and thick haunches. Looking at pictures from Ghosts 2 and 3 year old career, compared to the 4 year old now before her, Dallas could only relish in the beauty that her filly had so gracefully grown into. She was truly a spectacle to admire. They decided to train Ghost rather than rest her before the Arlington. She already ran her first race of her 4 year old career, a low risk race hosted by the harpg-urassociation, and the race had served its purpose in preparing her after her injury for the higher pressure races that were to follow. After the Arlington, she was scheduled to run in the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe, and the infamous Breeders Cup. Both of these races were very important to Dallas. Dallas did have her worries, as The Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe was a right-handed race, and her filly would have to be retrained to enter. Following that would be the Breeders Cup, a left hand race, which she would then have to shift Ghost back to her left handed roots and go from there. Ghost had high hopes for the Breeders Cup, but winning The Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe seemed more of a challenge at this point, and Dallas had to be careful how she scheduled Ghost's training after the Arlington Million.
It was the day of the Arlington Million at Arlington International Racecourse. Illinois in general was new soil to Ghost, and of course she was her usual self as she was unloaded, whinnying loudly to announce her arrival. And with that, her visual search for new friends began. Her eyes darted around the race grounds, nostrils flared, as she called out to other potential friends. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary with the filly. Though her body had physically changed and matured, her heart and soul were stuck in their youthful times. Dallas was glad that she still carried her joyful, curious demenur throughout the years.
It was time to prepare Ghost, and as the stable hands tended to her, Dallas took a walk around the race grounds to scope out the competition. It looked to be a field of 11, but there was an alarming amount of talk buzzing around the owners and trainers of scratching their horses. Maybe 3 or 4 owners, to Dallas's surprise. The true reasons were unknown, every owner and trainer has their reasons for scratching. She had scratched her own horse, WBS StarRideForTwo from this race, simply as she felt he was not running at his best. But a part of her felt that people were starting to become intimidated by Ghost, and her current rival BTs - Blackbeard Got Some Ink, who was in fact running today. Weather or not the other contestants decided to scratch, Dallas could not control. But she knew that every horse that did run today was against her filly, and she was confident that Ghost would do everything in her abilities to do her best today, as she always did.
