The racing staff at White Blood Stables were beyond excited and filled with anticipation for their little filly. Ghost's placement in The Pacific Classic would determine what sort of stand point she would have at The Breeders Cup Classic later in the year. The Breeders Cup Classic being another big race for Thoroughbreds, and a bit more on the well known side, they all knew of the importance that WBS Ghost Hour did well at The Pacific Classic today.. However, everyone believed Dallas's filly was going to take everything in stride like she had done so far. Dallas wiggled in her seat, legs tucked neatly to the side as she watched her filly through binoculars.

The horses were being loaded now, and with a few hot horses in the field this took some time to accomplish. Ghost, however, managed her way into the gates like a dream, and threw no fit as she did so. Other horses were being circled around for a second go.. a third.. Apollo- number two on the field today- had to be circled four times before she settled into the gates. And even then she, along with most of the other horses, was screaming and throwing a fit, slamming her body around. WBS Ghost Hour, however, remained stoic in expression, and calm in body. The only movement from the filly was her sides heaving as she took in a few heavy breaths of air, lifting her head a bit as she did so. Abhijat Devar watched her with a smile as it looked like she was off in her own little world daydreaming. He took a fist full of her mane and readied himself for the race to begin, slowing his breathing and focusing ahead.

For a moment, Ahjijat had every sound zoned out until all he could hear was his heart beating in his ears. Then, the sound of the bell shattered his mental silence, and Ghost was surging forward underneath him.

But they didn't make it far.

For reasons unknown to the Jockey, the filly was suddenly falling as she tried to propel herself out of the gate, and the ground drew nearer and nearer. Abhijat used every bit of strength he had to stay seated, but was obviously thrown heavily off balance and started falling over the mares neck as she fell to her knees. The horses around them shied away from the screaming white filly and they bumped into each other trying to get away from her before galloping forward.

Dallas was out of her seat in an instant- standing with her hands over her mouth, instantaneously dropping her binoculars. Flashbacks of WBS StarRideForTwo's racing crash flashed through her head and that is all she could see, her heart tearing out of her chest at the thought of her filly being injured. Time was nonexistent now, and all Dallas saw in her mind was disaster. She remembered how Burr's jockey Jeffery Sterlow had to be hospitalized, and how Burr had flipped over him, all over a nail to the hoof. She was waiting for time to resume.. waiting to see the worst unfold before her eyes..

Waiting to hear that her most prized horse was hurt.
