2018 TS Pegasus World Cup 1st Place by angry-horse-for-life

Dallas was nothing but proud of her Ghost and Blackbeard filly, Sail. Though she would come to realize she was quite nervous for the Pegasus World Cup, if not only because of the money at stake. She had confidence in Sail, and no matter what she placed, the funds would be quite appreciated back home. She chose Abhijat Devar without question.. he was the celebrity seasoned jockey at White Blood Stables, and his skills were second to none in Jackson's eyes. She watched as the handlers prepared the 5 year old, and Abhijat could tell that Dallas was deep in thought. He shared some encouraging words with her, of which she appreciated and returned with a hug. "We've come so far." She shook her head with a smile, beaming with pride. It seemed like yesterday that she was witnessing Ghost be born, and now the retired mare had produced beautiful offspring, of which Dallas had the pleasure of working with. And today, Sail would hopefully make her mark in the industry. The grooms finished their job and Dallas looked to the setting sun, her hair on end with anticipation. There was nothing but seasoned racers on the track today and Sail would really finally be up against the best of the best. Dallas recapped with her jockey in regards to the competition, discussing their strengths and weaknesses, their records and general possibilities of how the race may play out. She reminded him sternly, "Remember... hold her back- but not too far. I want you to keep right on the packs ass, and as soon as you round that corner, I want you to let her go." She helped Abhijat up into the saddle and he fastened his helmet. Dallas mounted Ghost and led him out, continuing to chat in a hushed tone. Ghost nudged her daughter affectionately, seeming to speak words of encouragement. The white mare was truly fitting in to her new role as a pony for White Blood Stables' racers, and wasn't only great at it, but really seemed to enjoy the work. Precious time seemed to fly by and Dallas was letting Abhijat and Sail go. She swallowed nervously and gave a good luck nod to Abhijat, who returned the gesture with an encouraging thumbs up and cheeky grin. Sail loaded into the gates like a dream, and in fact everyone loaded so quickly that the jockey didn't hardly have any time to think before the gates swung open and the bell chimed. The horses rocketed out of the gates, gaining momentum with champion precision. As instructed, Abhijat held Sail close behind the pack, listening to the pounding of the fillies stride as well as the chum chum chum of her breath. She seemed to become annoyed with the dirt flying up at her face so the jockey reassured her, "just a little further, Sail, we got this..." The horses rounded the corner and as soon as Abhijat found his opening he took it. He urged Sail on as she kicked into gear and surged forward.
