Description

Jen was leading Player away after the photoshoot when she had to stop to do a doubletake. She could have sworn that was Steppin Wolf out yonder from SKS, the stallion that had once covered one of their demonic mares. She looked harder and recognised his rider. With a smile she led Player over and said hello. She was the oldest woman there by a longshot, but she did look great in her outfit. Though it looked like it was ment for a teenager of sorts, she pulled it off great. When Player neared the other stallion he nickered low and raised his head, his ears pinning. Jen made sure they didnt touch noses, as to avoid a fight between the boys.

Andrew turned Wolf around when someone approached. An older looking woman in sensible clothes sat atop a big, handsome stallion. He immediately recognized Jen, from WBS. It had been well over a year since he and Alexa had stayed the night there.
"Ms. Simpson!" Andrew smiled and held Wolf's reins tightly. The two stallions were glaring at each other, ears flattened.
"I didn't expect to know anyone here"

Player continued to refuse to stand still and he started to bob his head. "Player! Lordy may!" She hopped up in the saddle, him walking forward a few steps before she could completely settle herself. She backed him to up to keep the space between the stallions. "Hows about a lil joy ride? Player could burn some of the energy. Jus something to keep the boys minds occupied.." She offered.

"Sounds great!" Andrew spun Wolf around so they were facing the same way. The black stallion whinnied in excitement and broke into a run. Player pinned his ears and chomped his teeth at the bit with a raised head. He wasnt one to follow other horses, but Jen kicked him into it and soon he was loping heavily after. So much for a joy ride . The big black and white stallion rolled up next to wolf, his head high and his ears pinned as he loped in stride with the other male.

Wolf galloped alongside Player. Never one to be beaten, Wolf surged forward. unfortunately player caught up. The two stallions were matched, and this pissed Wolf off to no end. Player skipped a beat in his gallop to kick out nastily, but Jen kept control of him after that the best she could, slowing him up a bit so he would calm down.

Noticing a few mares in the distance he immedietly perked up, his ears flicking forward and his head tilting to watch them and whinny to them. Jen couldnt help but smile and even laugh at her stallions behavior. Wolf narrowly missed the kick and while Player eyed the mares, he reached out to snap at the other horse's ear. Andrew grinned at Player's act and Pulled Wolf's head away from biting.

Luckily Player hadnt noticed the bite as he was to enticed with watching the mares, but when he started to really slow down, Jen got his attention and urged him on, getting his attention back into the ride. They headed for some trees and got to a wooded area, following the trail. She slowed him down to a slow lope, simply enjoying the smoothness of his gait.

Keeping to the trail forced Wolf to ignore Player and the ride grew more relaxed as they slowed to a canter. Andrew sat expertly in the saddle and enjoyed the scenery. After spending most of the day in the canyons, a forest was refreshingly close to home.

this reminds me very much of the scene in war horse, in which topthorn ( black awesome horse) and joey ( main horse, brown with white socks) are racing in a training game of catch the hoop.
