EDIT: GOD DAMN IT PEOPLE
I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHICH ONE IS BETTER AND WHY THE OTHER SIDE WILL NEVER COMPARE. OF COURSE THEY'LL NEVER COMPARE, THEY ARE BOTH TWO VERY DIFFERENT AWESOME THINGS THAT DEAL WITH DIFFERENT THEMES.
I WORKED FOR FOUR MONTHS AT LEAST ON THIS PICTURE I POURED MY HEART AND SOUL EQUALLY INTO BOTH SIDES SO GO WHINE ABOUT WHY THE OTHER SIDE SUCKS ON A FORUM FOR THAT PURPOSE. NOT ON MY ART. Gosh.
I'm sorry I'm just really emotional about my work, jeez. :/

Finally
my baby

I probably had a whole description planned out for this but screw that
I just got back from my friend's play, and there were a crapload of Star Wars and Star Trek references jgilse;hgilzsyhjno

AND AT THE END THE TREKKIE AND THE STAR WARS NERD RECONCILED THEIR DIFFERENCES AND ADMITED THAT SPOCK AND YODA WERE BOTH PRETTY COOL
AND
AND
THEY SANG "NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP"
AND I'M GOING TO CRY
BECAUSE IT WAS LIKE A REPRESENTATION OF MY ENTIRE LIFE
only the two people were just different aspects of my brain in this case

But seriously, that was EXACTLY the message I wanted. I wanted to show that even though they often seem to be on opposing sides, it is possible for them to coexist. It is even possible for one person to appreciate them both, as hopefully I have done by attempting to pay an equal amount of attention to both of them.

Now, hear me out, I have been a Star Wars fan since I was like, seven years old. Probably younger. Whenever the Special Edition VHS came out. A few years later, my dad took us to see Episode I in theatres. ghsligh it was great
It wasn't even until, yes, I know, I'm a n00b, but it wasn't until the 2009 Star Trek movie that I was like "Hey dad, I think I'm going to become a Trekkie."
My dad, who bought me the Original Trilogy of Star Wars and supported my love of Star Wars turned around like "STAR TREK IS BETTER THAN STAR WARS x100000" and I was shocked.

So he got me the TOS Season 1 box set for Christmas, and in January he grabbed my shoulder like "We're going to begin your Star Trek education"

It mostly consisted of me laughing at how low tech everything was. It pissed off my dad to the point where he spun around and said "LOOK, WE LIVED IN A TOWN WHERE THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAD TVS HAD TO PULL UP LOGS AND SIT ON THEM AND WATCH PEOPLE GO TO MARS."
Janice appears onscreen
"Her hair is ridiculous."
"IT IS NOT IT IS AWESOME AND FUTURISTIC."

It's gotten to the point that now we're on season 3 making fun of stuff and playing bingo together. My dad has gotten two in one episode.
"RED SHIRT GETS KILLED, KIRK KISSES A WOMAN, CHEKOV BOASTS OF RUSSIA RED ALERT I WIN"

So um I'm going to stop talking now.

This took about a month of 60/100 minute classes of art, several markers including Copic, Touch, Sharpies, and Letraset among other things. The colourless blender is my hero.

I drew most of the Star Wars characters from memory so that's why some of them look a bit off. XD Others I had to pay very close attention to- R2 especially. Chewie was hard and I'm still not happy with him. The Enterprise I had to paint over and redo twice so up-close it looks weird.

My mistakes aside, please enjoy. I'm incredibly obnoxiously proud of this and I hope people will shed their inherited animosity towards the other series. They are completely different in many respects but it is possible to appreciate both for being such classics and and and I'm gonna cry I can't type straight. Hahahaha.
I have had a suggestion to draw all these guys teaming up to fight the Empire and the klingons or the romulans or something. :D I think I'll get around to that eventually.

This picture won me second prize in the local Art Gallery for grade 12. :D

Who thinks that the Doctor (from the long running science fiction show Doctor Who, not the Star Trek one) Would be breaking up the fight?

Now if only someone would invent a phaser that draws out a lightsaber blade instead of a fancy red laser. And then it would be a "lightphaser." Cos phasers could either stun or kill, while lightsabers can only kill. But "lightphasers" could either stun or kill, plus it could be wielded like a lightsaber. You get my drift?

Trek and Wars FTW!!!!

I love both. I don't see why we're not allowed to. It's weird that being a nerd has gone from something someone becomes based on exclusion, and now I as a nerd am being excluded by other nerds for my nerdiness. Why can't I love both Data and Han Solo?
