*productive photo editing noises*
I am happy to tell you, that I was one of the chosen to help announce this year's #WinterWonderland2023 campaign, hosted by the
DeviantArt @@team!
With the goal of creating a beautiful
Winter Wonderland themed photo, I checked my gallery of not-yet-edited photographs, and I immediately knew what pic to choose, as it was just too dreamy and too wonderland-y to let go. But before I tell you more about how the photograph turned into the final upload, I think there is one thing that you should now:
The good thing is, that you can also participate in the #WinterWonderland2023 campaign and be rewarded for it! How?
By creating winter themed art you can earn the Profile badge of this campaign. It is time to embrace winter and the winter holidays, and let’s snow it.. uh, i mean, show it! 😎
List and offer your art as an Exclusive for a chance to be rewarded fragments or have your art featured.
Make sure to use the tag #WinterWonderland2023
More infos about the campaign here:
My contribution is also listed as an Exclusive. It's a feature that allows you to buy and own this deviation, but also support me in the process. Check the description for more infos, right here: [silent stranger]
In the Deviation description I explained how this photo came to be, and how lucky I was to have stood in this amazing winter scape. Now I will show you how it looked In the beginning and how it ended up in this colorful and dreamy mood 😇
I shoot my photos in RAW mode, means that all processing will be removed and the edit starts from scratch. If you shoot regular JPGs with your camera or phone, it will already have made some decisions and done some processing for you to make the image look more colorful and lifelike. But it will limit the options of how to edit and image, as the camera has already made some decisions for you. A RAW file is just pure information, and nothing else.
After the initial edit, it looks almost finished already. But then, to fully embrace our main subject, the silent stranger, I started to remove the power lines and the pole right next to the tree. And as I thought I was done, the plowed snow in the bottom right started to bother me, so I made sure to make it fit to the rest of the snow landscape. And that was is. Quite simple edit, but knowing it would be used for the campaign, I checked every detail twice.. or even more often 😅
Thanks for reading! Wishing you all the best, and let's stay in touch 😇
I'm @ hannesflo basically everyhwere, including Instagram.
Of course parts of the world are in the summer months 😇 Lucky you, it’s quite cold here! 😆
