Meh, I live in the states so I use gray simply because I spell colour as color, and flavor as flavour, and all that stuff. I actually kind of like the british spelling, but just to be consistent with how I spell stuff overall, I use "gray" with the A over the one with the e.

Oops, I flipped the examples I gave with color and flavor. Point is I use American spelling because it's what I grew up with but I think both are equally right.

I always thought of it this way...

A-merica = Gr-A-y
E-ngland = Gr-E-y

I always wrote it as Grey. I'm from the US and always thought gray was incorrect.

Huh, so grey is the British way. I always thought it was "gray" if you meant the color and "grey" if you meant the emotion.

Woah, I just found out that grey and gray are two color shades..."grey" is light gray and "gray" is dark gray. :o

I think the difference in spelling is based on American English and British English. Gray is spelled correctly when using American English, and grey is correctly used when using British English. Either way it conveys the same words so I see it as either :P

I CAN'T DECIDE!!!! On the one hand, I'm American, and therefore should write gray. But, at the same time, I read a lot of stuff where it's spelled "grey." I'M SO CONFUSED AND CONFLICTED!!!!!

So I write it however I feel like at the time.

just to clarify, GRAY is the actual correct way of spelling the word in the United States. GREY is the correct way of spelling it in Great Britain.
