A Day in the Woods

More practice pieces! This one is something I started a few days ago experimentally to figure out forest painting (I got inspired after watching another cool illustration video), and I think I learned a lot! It's not perfect, but it's a step up from prior quickish work!

The little baby there is actually my character Toby, a carnivorous unicorn doppelganger or 'falsicorn', with her parents. I had a lot of fun on this silly self indulgence-- and it also turned out to be a convenient excuse for illustrating the species' lesser recessive horn type, whose spiral can 'unwind' into three prehensile, fanged tentacles instead of a hinged pincer mouth.
